I recently worked on a Quasar commission from Matt @ bringbackwendell.com . This is another character that I never really attempted to draw. It was alot of fun. I enjoy those commissions that challenge me. Anyway, he had me do the full sha-BanG! I thought it would be cool to share the 3 step process since it does not happen that often, usually it is just pencils.

Nice, very.
I like the difference between the stars in his cape and the stars in the BG (color wise).
The sheen on the costume is just right.

i'd say keep it as black&white... the photoshop-y shadows don't look too hot. nice inking btw.
