Warren Ellis never ceases to amaze me in the amount of work that he cranks out, and is still able to make everything quality.

One of his latest endeavors is Doktor Sleepless, a twisted tale about the distorted life of John Reinhardt. Who is a trust fund child, with a dark parental past that has only been revealed slightly in flashback panels of crazy tentacles threatening a childhood John. How John exists is a mystery, John is supposed to be living in maximum lock up, but Doktor Sleepless claims to be John and is now running an illegal radio station from his old estate. This all plays havoc on the residents of Heavenside, including his old girlfriend Sing Watson.

In traditional Ellis style, this book is chock full of technology, myth, magic, and crude sexual remarks only found in his titles.

I'm through issue 3 at this point and looking forward to picking up #4. Anyone else reading this title?

I'm up to date on Dok Sleepless. Not sure how many issues are out, but I've got them all and have have read them all. I was of course excited for the book because I'm a huge Ellis fan, but wasn't blown away by the first issue. Each issue since then has gotten better and better though, and the latest was indeed my favorite yet. I'm really enjoying all of his creator-owned stuff coming out of Avatar these days alongside Doktor Sleepless. Black Summer and Gravel have been great, as well as his Avatar-hosted web-comic Freak Angels.
