Copying all of the figures will help instill a good sense of anatomy

For regular types, draw from life and magazine and newspaper pics. Never underestimate the value of reference! Your stuff is looking good! You'll be where you want to soon enough.

What a difference school/study makes. I'm really impressed by the painting skills, especially the candle study.

Your sketches from life and reference are quite lively as well. I like the Pretty woman sketch and the hand studies. Since you obviously enjoy painting have you ever considered approaching the pencil or charcoal medium the same way?
