hi, all, i've been working on a sketch blog since august, and hit a brick wall this month due to multiple obligations/events/holidays. i'm hoping to get some comments/crits and also looking for some help (morale boost) getting back on track come the new year. the url is

no its definatly not crap....all the sketches here show some dynamic poses from the characters shown which is good. My only complaint will be on the anotomy on a few pics...mainly venom...his legs look a little weird..could be that u just rushed or maybe the fact that it is after all a sketch.I would like to see some of your finished works!

thanks, Kris.
i see what you mean, especially on the thighs. it's a bit of a nebulous area for me when viewed from a different angle other than the front. definitely a combination of really quick sketching and the fact that i've not been to a lifedrawing session in years. i may have to invest in a few anatomy/life drawing books to compensate for that. if you know of any websites that exhibit pictures for such a purpose (that don't require credit card info and discreet billing ;) ) that would help in the short-term.

this was refered to me by someone here...it contains links to 6 full art books that rival Bridgmans guide to drawing life(in my opinion)
its definatly something you should put on your favorites list!

These are pretty good! I think you need to work on your likenesses some though.
Cool stuff. :)

Keep in mind, sketchblogs aren't necessarily a place you go looking for critiques, it's mainly a place just to post and not have to worry about it. If you wanted more reactions, maybe the Sketches Lab.
You might also tighten up some of these and put them in Pencilling and see if anyone would like to take the time to give a nice once-over.

thanks, loston, that means a lot after seeing your stuff!
i know what you mean on the likenesses - i think i made kari's head a bit too round - she's got a more thin face than that.

ah, okay, thanks for the info. i just figured since i was maintaining my own sketchblog that i'd start here.

will do, thanks for the pointers. i'll probably do so with some of the more finished pieces i generate.

multi-spidey (with so many variations on the costume, i should really mix it up a bit when i do montages like this, but i love the classic costume the best...)

hellboy - just a few days 'til the new movie! rock!
http://dailyscribble.vynsane.com/images/darkhorse/resized/106_hellboypowinthekisser.jpg
the oriole - my own creation, half inspired by gatchaman/BotP and robin, the boy wonder... she's the ex-sidekick of an as-yet unnamed bird-themed batman archetype and will play a slightly prominent role as a supporting character for a main character i might one day get around to doing something with... i think i made her arms too short, or her legs too long. but whatev.
