I've never really did one of these things so I thought I'd show you guys my version of Petey and Spidey. I'm a big fan of the Super Dorko Peter Parker from the early 60's more then the modern cool ass Petey of today. To me the Geek Pete was the ultimate mask. No one ever suspects a friendless braniac loser with a hunch to be the super strong, wall crawling, web swinging hero. I wanted to elongate his porportion and give him very lanky figure. This look to me sort of makes him look more "SPIDER" like when he pops on the suit. Anyways...Tell me what ya think of my version fellow devs.

nice style.
I like this take on the character, but there are some things about the actual drawing that I feel lets it down.
– The lower half of the the mask is off. The straight lines of the web should come down either side of his nose and chin (like so (http://www.angelfire.com/ca/Entertaining/spideromita.jpg)) and not down the center.
– The modelling on the head is odd. Doesn't really define the shape correctly.
– I'd tone down the highlight on the black part of the left eye of the mask, or use a similar highlight on the right eye, or just lose it altogether. It looks inconsistent as is, especially when the white of the right eye has a highlight, even in shadow.
– The red holds don't really work against the blue fills. Use a darker, less saturated blue. That should also help separate Spidey's torso from his right arm. The highlight you're using doesn't work, since the established light source is on the opposite side.
– The webbing on Spidey's left hand is unfinished.
– The right boot is missing the webbing, and the less saturated color doesn't fit with the rest of the scheme.
– It's SpiderhyphenMan.
Everything else I dig, especially the look for Peter.

I feel that a mixture of Warren Ellis Clark Kent and Cris Reeve's portrayal of him in the Superman films to be the best disguise. When you mix that up you get a clumsy, head sunked between the shoulders, Bowlegged, slightly stuttering, might of been a nerd in highschool, cowardly Clark. I not only see the confident exterior when he puts on the red, blue and yellow tights but sort of a exhale. The chance for him to breath and be himself. To me Superman is truly who he is.
I could be wrong though...tell me what your thoughts are guys and what ya think.

I really like what you've done, but both Spiderman and Spidey seem a little short, no? Supes for instance is here roughly six heads tall, whereas he's supposed to be a larger than life character, nearly godlike.
I guess it's a stylistic choice, but it seems odd to me. The rest is kickin'!

Hotness. Don't like fat clark but otherwise very cool.
I'm sure if you had an average guy stood next to Supes for comparison, you guys would see Kizer's version is still bigger and bulkier, rather than reading him as short and stubby.

love your style very fluid and energetic. Love the interpretations on these characters. What movie was it that they were talking about Clark is Superman's view on humans and that Clark is his costume and Superman is who he really is. I can hear the dialog in my head I just can't see the actors yet. Was it Unbreakable?

This guys is a pretty complex dude.
Every body knows that the Playboy, Womanizing
Bruce Wayne is an act. That playful rambunctious Bruce before his parents were killed doesn't exist anymore so he never grew to become that kind of man. Vengeance and hatred pretty much took it's place. So His whole life after the point was consumed by getting back at the people who reminds him of his tragic past.
So he prepares himself because he knows that going after such men was inevitable. He defeats his greatest childhood fear by becoming it and "Batman" is the result. So I feel the masked mysterious man of vengeance who want to strike fear in the hearts of man is the real Bruce Wayne. But this again is my opinion. What do you guys think?....

Great illos. Where are Pete and Clark? Why is Hank McCoy standing next to Superman?
Pete and Clark are the two most recognizable civilians in comics. Drawn properly, we should be able to spot Pete in the crowds outside the Daily Planet or Clark auditing a class at ESU. Here, even with labels, they’re completely unrecognizable while standing next to their costumed personas.
Not trying to be mean but, that’s bad storytelling. Those are not the characters. It’s the equivalent of drawing Superman as a tractor in a pink tutu or Spider-Man as an overweight Collie with a fishbowl on his head.

That's not the problem, that's the point. You should be able to recognize the characters no matter how improper the setting.
And for what it's worth, Peter has been to the Daily Planet.

It wouldn't be much of an exercise if Kizer just used the existing models.

I'm not trying to be mean but this is too funny dude. It wouldnt be any fun in any way to limit yourself creatively. Even on the most iconic Heroes. Sometimes looking at the character within can give you a better veiw of the character without.
There should never be a usual way of going about things when it comes to art of any kind dude.

There's tons of people out there who have escaped there past problems by suppressing them so far within there minds to a point where its almost like they've never even happened. This guys just couldn't seemed to achieve such a dream. I'm a big fan of the hulk that started up in the early 80's with Bruce being abused as a child and having (DiD) which is basically a spit personality .
I feel that the reason Hulk is so strong and so perpetually enraged is because of Bruce’s strong inner emotional agony and Rage from his past.
To me Hulk is like a living personification of Bruces inner self. This Wild, Montruos, Powerful sudconcious bomb that has basically exploded. This Bruce here would probably be one who seems to not only be running from a murder he didn't commit or Lieutenant Striker’s men but possibly this beast that lies within him as well. Even though he know’s that’s pretty much impossible. Hulk is partly who he is.
..But What do you guys feel?

Kind of thought of Matt as a straight faced, dapper
superbly professional and constantly observant lawyer but
one who of course still seems dependent on the walking stick for secret disguise reasons..here. To me this DD guy is kind like a mix between Batman and the Punisher. He seems to not only want vengeance but Punishment when it comes the criminals he goes after and will go through any means get both. This of course spawned from the tragic death of his father when he was a kid. I don't really see to much of a mask man here I just see a guy who is now doing what he always wanted to accomplish ever. Putting bad people away by day and doing the same at night. With his suit I always thought that eventually someone was going to use that ningitsu background of his and place some of that in his Daredevil attire but it never really happened. So I took the liberty of alternating it just a touch. But what's your thought's on this dude?

Hey Kizer, really cool stuff here.
Do me a favor and post your images in the same post if you have multiple pieces to show off. You can do three per post here. This way everyone can comment if they want to, and the thread doesn't keep getting bumped up for new stuff causing other threads to bump down that may still need love.
Either that or try creating a new thread every now and then if you have more than three you want to show at a time.

So I sort of thought of Tony as a womanizing, Super intelligent, Incredibly mellow, Sarcastic, brilliant business minded, fast talking dude....whew. Which isn't all that different from how he is in the books now. The thing is that I feel that some of the way he acts is a way to avoid his past. The alcoholism, the take over of his company, him becoming homeless for a while, creating weapons of war for profit and of course the tragic death of his parents. So keeping his future in mind and his past out is what he does now. I think continuing to be visibly cool in public is a great way to prevent people from becoming suspicious of whose within the Iron suit as well. The birth of Iron man to me was kind of like the rebirth of how Tony saw war. It basically showed him that what he was doing was wrong. That selling WMD's wasn't the best way in solving conflicts between countries. Unfortunately he had to be imprisoned, forced to make a bomb and almost near death to see this but this was sort of is his "At first I was blind but now I see" moment.
But this again an opinion of mine.....what's yours?

I have to total opposite feeling. stark looks like a combo between queer eye for the straight guy and backstreet boys. Where as the Iron man to me has plenty energy fluidity to it, well as much energy as a man in a metal suit can have.

See I always thought of Tony as the Bruce Wayne of the Marvel universe. Like a cocky, rich-boy. I think the drawing of stark is spot on with THAT personality. If that is or isn't starks personality, I'm not sure, I don't read many Iron man comics. Thats kinda irrelevant to my comment, I wasn't stating that the character was spot on, I was saying that the drawing has SO MUCH character and personality.

Kizer.
Long time fan.
I think that your interpretations of the characters are spot on.
I love each one.
-Spidey/Pete:
Peter Parker is your average brilliant nerd. His clothes aren't "cool", his hair is not "cool", he is just not "cool". He's not great-looking, awkward. Spidey looks confident, just by his stance, which is what happens, all of Pete's lack of confidence gets thrown out when he puts on the mask.
-Clark/Supes
I'm not in full agreement that Clark is Superman's disguise... not completely--- Clark is almost everything Superman is not, only visually. Clark Kent's parents morals and beliefs are what fuelled Superman's drive to be "good". All in all, Superman is a small town boy with Herculean power. But the depiction you've given I interpret Clark's awkwardness as his attempt to be overly-clumsy. I think the disguise is that he's trying TOO HARD to be human. That's what I see in your drawing (awesome BTW)
-Bruce/Bats
Whoa. Yeah, Batman is messed up... he is dark, just as mad as the criminals he locks up. Bruce Wayne is expected to be sauve, womanizing, non-commital and frivilous (sp?), all things Batman is not. Well done.
-Matt/DD
love the ninja armour... and the totally serious Matt.
-Banner/Hulk
I think you are spot on in your analysis. I like that Banner is trying to hide in your pic... great story there.

I guess my Eddie would be a combo of both the original and Ultimates version. A bully that is a complete ass and the dude that has all the deep down problem caused from the death of his parents and what he thinks of as a betrayal of Peter Parkers trust. My venom is basically the one that I love most. The musclular, Wild ass, Brute of a Beast. I always thought this one was the scariest. My thoughts what yours?

Your venom is awesome very nicely done. I'm not too crazy about your eddie though. I don't like the red hair, but especially the way he is dressed doesn't seem right to me. His dressed like a rebellious teenager if you get what I mean. The belt, the skull on the tshirt, it looks like what an emo or hardrock teenager would wear so I find that it doesn't suit the character well. Otherwise very nicely done, always a pleasure to see your work.

I made it that way only because so many teenagers have the rebelous attutide and are more easily influenced. I didn't really care to much on what age he is in the movie, telivison show or comic book. This is basically my rendition of the dude. I thought to put Eddie in this clothing because I felt that the symbiote had some effect on the guys attitude. It not only of course changed the way he acted but the way he dressed as well. Basically turning him into this badass rebel bully. Since black is the main color that the symbiote creates I chose to make his clothes black and grey's. After thinking about what kind of peeps where that colors or (absence of color I should say) I settled on Punk rocker look. I just thought it kind of worked with his attitude.. so I went with that. I always wanted to use the poison symbol if I was to ever draw this guy so I poped on the shirt..just fits I felt >Venom..Poison<. Those gloves with the gap in the middle I just had to do aswell. I wanted to put a little thought into the guy...izall. Thnx dude!

I love Frank Miller and Midy Newell’s rendition of the Catwoman, so I sort of pieced them with some thoughts I had. Selina is as a lonely, boring, dry, sarcastic, and very deeply depressed person when the mask is off. I think the depression spawned from the numerous amounts of grief she encountered as a youngling. The Suicide of her Mother and then the Alcoholism and Death of her Father. After that point I think that she’s been hoping to escape those memories by trying to become someone else, someone she is not. So she acted up afterwards and the small time she spent in the orphanage leads to her being placed in a juvenile dentition hall. The hard time she spent there by almost being killed by a money grubbing administrator lead to her getting revenge, stealing money from the Hall and running out of it not to long after. So in old Gotham she decided to be part of a gang of streets thieves lead by a Ruthless leader. The gangs leader wasn’t fair profit wise So she ran away to a life of child prostitution. More and more crap happens after that but I wrote that to wright this..
all these past troubles seemed to have evolved into this
street-wise, cunning, seductive, extremely tuff, sneaky, masked anti-heroin we know as CatWoman. So In a way it
the Death of her parents that gave birth to the life of Catwoman. I believe she’s mentally comfortable in the dark tights aswell. This is what she is because it’s all she knows. My thoughts on Ms.Kyle what’s yours?
Oh yeah Selina’s mother had a deep fascination with cats as well.
My Selina cares for cats but loved her mother so much
that she draped herself in it...The catsuit !hehe!

I like them both, it's a slick style and looks good. I do with the Iron Man was a little punchier, I think he could have more highlights, look more metallic.
[edit: whoops, didn't notice there were more pics here til after I posted. Like the lot of them styles great. I'll extend my crit to Venom as well though I feel like there needs to be a little more difference in the lights and darks to make it a little punchier.]

So I was basically thinking of the points just before Robin decided on going solo and placing the blue and black tights on to become the Skull bashing, bullet dodging nocturnal "NightWing" we know him as today. So my thought of Dick Grayson before that change is as a high-school prep student that is extremely intelligent but sarcastic, rebellious, hot tempered and non-caring when it comes to the interaction with others. As robin he seems to be more serious, fearless and mentally darker than his past care-free self. I thought that maybe he had something to do with the design of the outfit as well. Giving it a more of a muted, modern and bad ass look to fit his attitude. To me Robin may have had his disagreements with the Bats which probably ultimately resulted in him leaving to do his own thing but I think he'll become just another Bat in a bird costume. What's your thought of Mr.Grayson fellow Dev?

me loves the robin design but Dick just doesn't work. it could be the fact that I hate emo and it has this emo feel to it. But Robin's costume man Sweet. His hair though blah. Just my opinion. Both are great. Keep up the good work and i'm really digging your style.

These guys are at the moment some of the most popular kids in cartoons today. They seems to delve into subjects that not only attracts the little lads but older individuals aswell, which is always a good thingy. Anyways, It seems that eveybody seems to be drawing them up so I thought I'd jump on the bandwagon and just do all at once..hehe.

I always thought a Batman Iron Man crossover would be the best crossover dc and marvel would ever do.They are so much alike and different in many ways. They could be jealous of each other and admire each other at the same time.Batman would totally steal the Ironman design and take it back to the dc universe.

Through the years I've seen pictures like this by other artist so I decided on doing my own of Spidey and Venom. I always felt that Venom is the Ultimate Villain of Spider-Man because of his every night and day wanting to rid him. It mainly has to do with a tragic past that Eddie Brock suffers that he either blames on Parker or someone related to Parker. The other reason is the living alien symbiote that Parker parted himself with that has endless hatred for him. So those two combined are willing to spend 24/7 trying to kick the ass of Mr. Friendly Neighborhood Spider. Damn! Life gotta suck for Pete.

Really awesome Kizer, love the style, I have a question what's an optical mouse?

If I was Spider-Man I would literally piss in my tight blue spandex spidey suit pant thingyz if these Badass fellers were leaping towards me. Doc Octupus who can think of eight different ways at once to kickass with those tentencles, Venom who I bet have wet dreams of ways to destroy Peter, Green and Hobgoblin who are ****ing nuts in the head and will chuck an infinite amount of explosives pumpkins in order to turn Spidey into itty bitty pieces and Electro a dude who can harness.....My Damn! These are just few of the badasses the Webhead has to deal with in his wallcrawling life. I would seriously take sometime and wonder if I would ever want to go outside agian if I were Peter Parker.
