You deserved more votes in the Hellboy drawoff. I think you went above and beyond on this piece, balancing some complicated tones and handling them well. There were many nice pieces of artwork in the drawoff, but I wonder how many other artists entering really pushed themselves the way you did. It's why I voted for you over the other pieces. It had little to do with friendship--I'm friends with dfbovey, Nate, Keith, and almost everyone who entered. Your efforts impress me, and frankly, if you don't mind me saying so, I'm not known for being easily impressed. I pretty much hate air and water. ;)

Unused Hating Ophelia art
My friend Tanya and I have been working on a book for Markosia, called Hating Ophelia. Originally we had one issue finished, but we decided to scrap that in favor of a slightly better direction. I had planned to salvage some pages that Tanya drew, and I inked/colored, but now we've reached a point where we're just simply doing better work.

Anyway, point is there are some pages that will never see the light of day. This is one of them. (Hope I just made sense. The dentist gave me a bunch of Tylenol 3's, and I'm on 3 days of no sleep! Wheeee!)

It's a challenge to let go of detailing the hell out of everything, but I am really liking it a lot! I'm hoping that after another 9000 some attempts, I'll figure them out. :D

You can still go detail crazy... just takes a lot more patience than other mediums. Depending on the paper and the brush, you can get the same amount of detail painting in watercolor as you would with brush and ink. But allowing drying time is the hardest part. lol
