Exploring an option this writer has felt they should have done a while ago, the Japanese division of Sony and the Capcom are teaming up for Biohazard: Degeneration, a CG-animated film based on the "Resident Evil" franchise. "Biohazard," of course, is the title used for the RE games in Japan.

Sony Pictures Entertainment Japan and game maker Capcom will jointly produce feature toon "Biohazard: Degeneration," based on the "Resident Evil" films and games, the partners said Monday.
The "Resident Evil" franchise is known as the "Biohazard" series in Japan.

Scheduled for release in the latter half of 2008, the 3-D animated effort will be based on an original story; the helmer and other cast and crew are yet to be announced.

The live-action pic series, starring Milla Jovovich, has generated three entries, the latest being Resident Evil: Extinction, which has earned $50 million at the U.S. box office and $100 million worldwide since its Sept. 21 release.

I bet they are like you guys screw up EVERYTHING. First Godzilla NOW this?!

Doesn't show much, but it looks promising, it already looks better than anything I've seen of the live action versions.

FIG, the games are really good, especially the updated Gamecube version of the original. RE4 is great, too. The movies aren't horrible, at least not the first one. I haven't seen the new one yet.

They are not Resident Evil movies. They feel more like Uwe Boll movies with zombies in them. Closest thing to a good RE movie is I Am Legend. just pretend instead of the cancer cure its the T-Virus and Umbrella created it.

Puh-lease, they are not that bad. Attaching Uwe Bolls name to something means its unredeemably bad. I would attach that name to only things that are so bad there are no redeeming qualities about it. Milla Jovovich is nice to watch and even though I really don't like a majority of Paul Andersons movies, they are definetly not Uwe Boll bad. He does know exponentially more what hes doing as a director than Uwe Boll.

Dude, Paul W.S. Anderson* made Alien vs. Predator. That's one of the worst movies I've seen in my life.
