View Full Version : Heroes or Lost??
I've noticed something about two shows on TV. It seems that if you watch one of the shows you cant watch the other. Now I know Im sure there are those that do watch both but for the most part I have noticed the first.
So I ask which show is better to you?
Do you watch both?
please tell why.

Interesting, I didn't realize it was such a split.
I watch both and Lost is the better show. Regardless of how they've strung us along for so long, it's better written and acted.

I gave up on Heroes halfway through the first season. I'm still sticking with Lost, though.

I never know when Lost is on so... I just watch Heroes.

I tried to watch Heroes but it was just too boring for me. Maybe it's a big sensation because the "regular" public isn't used to storylines like this one but to an old fanboy like me it's been done plenty of times before.
As for Lost, well, you bastards got me hooked on it and now I have to see it through.

It's been on Wednesday nights since episode one. Season four starts in February, now is the time to rent the DVDs and catch up.

I know its on, on wed. but theyll air for 3 weeks, take a break, show another episode, another break etc... plus Im not a fan of spending money on things I can watch for free. If I missed it, I missed it.

This season it's sixteen episodes in a row. Last season they had six episodes in a row, then seventeen episodes in a row. I know the frequent breaks they would take between episodes was frustrating, but it hasn't been a problem since season two.

I think LOST is pretty much crap. I don't like any of the characters, and it drags on forever. Just when I start to get excited about something on there, they dissapoint me the next episode. My friends used to come over to watch it with my wife and I, and they'd get angry from me making fun of it. I can pretty much gauge whats going to happen on the show by just saying the opposite of what my friends think is going to happen.
I give it a 3 out of ten.
Alias got a 1 on the same scale.

What if I don't watch either of them?
I gave up on "Heroes." It had the potential to be a really cool show but sufferred from many shortfalls including slow pacing and character inconsistencies. The final straw was that last battle with Sylar and Peter at the end of last season. It was beyond bad --- especially when shows from no-budget networks like Buffy or Angel have kick ass battles every episode.
As for "Lost," I've never seen it but I plan on renting the first season from Netflix when I get the chance.
By the way sorry I didnt mention this. You can vote in multiple spots. meaning more than one vote.

I voted for "both shows are equal" because I don't watch either.

Lost is the better show. More interesting characters and a more interesting story. Heroes pretty much jumped the shark for me this past Monday with the Superman flies Lois Lane over the city bullshit. I'm done. Conversely, Lost delivered the best cliffhanger I've seen since the one they delivered the year before, so I'm sticking with Lost.

For some reason I never get into shows that get rave reviews and a lot of buzz (I think it's the must see aspect, I don't like scheduling tv). I only started watching Lost when I got the first two seasons on DVD. Watched both seasons in a four day period. Then watched the first six episodes of season three, had withdrawels and finished off the season like everybody else. I was doing pretty good there until I noticed this thread and it's got me thinking about the show again starting in February :P Actually, that's not true, saw Mathew Fox in "My Boyfriend's Back" last night and that got me thinking about it again. I've never seen Heroes but it sounds like it would be my kind of show.

Lost is the better Twin Peaks wannabe, and I quite like it. (Mostly.)

I watch Heroes because it stole the concept of X-men, and I like X-men.

Heroes is by far the Best. The characterizations and plot are superior.
Lost is still good though.

For me, Lost's characterizations and plots are so vastly superior, that concept of debating it seems ludicrous. However, obviously others would disagree with me, so it isn't as ludicrous as I would imagine it.
I don't say this to criticize those that would disagree. Different strokes for different folks, and all that.

Lots of deep characters on Lost. I don't get that feeling at all from anyone on Heroes, not even Nikki who is probably the most complex portrayal on the show.

Heroes struck me as
A) another attempt to jump on the serialized sci-fi supernatural bandwagon that was revitalized by Lost (remember all those other shows that tried and failed during Lost's 2nd season?)
B) Comic book mythology for people that don't read comics.
Despite that I tried a few episodes and always ended up changing the channel. The characters and situations didn't get me interested, and it seems like they've recycled so many plot strands from comics.
Lost - I'm still watching religiously, and while there have been lackluster episodes now and then, I'm always drawn back in.

Despite my love for comic books, super heroes, and sci-fi, Heroes couldn't keep me interested. I watched maybe the first eight or nine episodes of season 1 and couldn't be bothered to see anymore. I figured that if I heard good things about it I would check it out on DVD later, but after all the shit people have talked about the finale of season 1, I figured I was better off just sticking with LOST. In my opinion, LOST is the best show on television these days with the possible exception of Showtime's Dexter.

I watch and enjoy both shows. I'm a little partial to LOST, especially with the horrid season2 of Heroes. I'm glad the writers strike is done.

This is like saying, "Who's your favorite child?"
As Hyde said above, season 2 was bad, but I have to say, it did recover in the end. Horned Rim Glasses guy got back some of his mojo, and hopefully he goes back to being the main bad guy.
But Lost... it's like the X-files. I'm constantly confused and entertained.
Lost wins.

I watch Heroes, but most because Lost isn't on. As in I like it, but it's definitely a place holder show for me until the REAL show comes on.
Lost is a superior show in every aspect.

LOST is awesome.
Heroes seems more like some weird X-Men story, so I've been told. I really don't have an opinion on it since I've never bothered watching it. I can't say whether it's good or bad, let alone if it's better than LOST. But I would guess that it is not.

I voted equal because they both suck, just in different ways.
I liked Lost the first couple seasons but the writing lost all sense of direction. I haven't seen it in 2 years. I am a permanent convert to "Life" on NBC, which is brilliant.
I did like "Life on Mars" which was on right after Lost but despite being one hell of a fun show with a speculative sci-fi overtone, it got canceled. If you didn't catch any of the episodes, the loss was yours.
