This week's topic topic is pretty simple and straight forward but hopefully fun.
LOBO from DC comics.
Have fun.

I´m just another amateur!
I think this kind of idea is great, somethime you don´t know what to draw and need inspiration and sometimes drawing something new or different can be good for ones development.
I hope I can find time to draw a piece of LOBO. ^^

does anybody here think that Lobo and Dog the Bounty Hunter share a resemblance?

YOU CALL THAT A LOBO!
hehee no just kidding man.
Nice work, not familar with lobo myself.
I think you did a nice job on capturing Lobos personality but
the compostion of the pages is off and the pose is kinda bland.
I think those are the two main things that take away from the pic.
I love the concept you had and teddy being stabbed is just loboesk.
Nice work, its good to see you jump right in, keep that up and youll
get good solid feedback. I look forward to seeing more and ....
Welcome to PJ :)

Thanks! hehe, yeah. I find this piece ugly too. I just had that idea with the teddy and no really good pose for him. As I said, I´ve read nothing with Lobo, just looked at some covers too see how he looked like. Hey, how do I draw his jacket to look more like leather?
Anything else I should keep in mind?

Yeah watch for the perspectice too. He seems to be standing
on stairs not on the same level. Mainly because of the height
you drew the back wall line. and both legs are identical in
size. I would make one just a little bigger to show that it
is more forward than the other.
Thats pretty nitpicky stuff though.
And the best thing to do is, and I cant stress it enough is use
thumbnails before each pic. It makes compostion way easier
since you get a better feel of the pic from a further away
view. And also it allows you to make your mistakes at a small
level without wasting time on the final piece. This way you
can pic a pose that your satisfied with and it will transfer into
the drawing.
I have a question. Are ya drawing on 8x11 regular paper?
If its regular typing paper I would practice drawing bigger
really utilizing the full page it will help put in details in the face,
right now for the size it is; it would be hard to put in facial
details.
I used to have the same problem with drawing small, until I
bought an 11x17 sketchpad and it forced me to draw bigger.
About the leathery looking jacket....I would just use referance
I'm pretty bad with drapery myself, but I'm sure Manji can
give ya some good tips on that.
I wouldnt call this picture ugly though. Its nicely done it just
needs tweaking. Nice work man, keep on posting :)
P.S. Its good to see new people who are willing to take
crits, its the best way to improve, keep it up man :)

Thanks, I did a thumbnail but have to do it more often and get used to that. I use common sketchpaper, A4 copysize. I will buy larger paers for sure, you´re right about that. I just don´t know how I´m supposed to scan those drawings then?
Good critics! I´m glad you tooked time to look at my pic. I want to be better and will work harder, I´m 27 (yesterday) now and have promised myself to be good when I´m 30! ^^
The stairpose you´re right about, maybe I should do a new pic and post here...many thanks!

First Happy Birthday :)
What I would reccommend is after you get few sketches done
to start a sketchblog in addition to posting it on the other
forms. Its a great way to see your progression for when ya
get great, and I know you will cause you have a very good
work ethic and your determined. Its just a matter of time.
For scanning large documents.
You can get a Mustek A3 Scanner for fairly cheap. Its the
only large scanner I know of at a fair price usually below
$200. Its a great investment especially if you have a great
goal like yours. I bought one and even though it gives me
trouble once in a while its worth every penny I paid for and
has more than made up for the money I spent on it.
Keep that pencil moving :)
