You don't even have all of them. What about symbiote, Ben Reilly, Prodigy, Dusk, Bag Man, Man-Spider, Classic or even Captain Universe? Come on man, at least try to be thorough. Oh yeah, the "red and gold" armor is referred to as Iron Spider-man.

In the list of choices present, In that list, I choose 2099 hands down. Iron Spider man gets a nod also, that costume grew on me and I was actually alittle excited to see them come back in Intiative.

If you guys dig the 2099, get a look at the World Tour storyline from Exiles, Miguel joins up with the Exiles in there.

Don't read the more recent stuff though, Claremont is butchering the storyline big time.

Alright, I've edited the poll. I doubt I've missed anything from the 616 and MEP will need to PM me if he wants alternate universe costumes (like Fantastic Five or Earth X) included. Right now I'm torn between the black costume and the original red and blue.

Original red and BLACK costume. It's still the best and most iconic. All the rest are craptastic. The 2099 costume is a cool costume, but does little to convey "spider" anything.

Yes, but the two sentences that immediately follow that are:

It doesn't matter how you're using the word, you should be aware that people in this country see it as an ethnic slur. It's like saying the swastika has been used for thousands of years as a religious symbol. Which is true, but if you go around wearing a shirt with a swastika on it, people will assume you're a neo-Nazi.

You should also be aware that racial slurs are against the rules on this board, so you should probably curb your usage of that word.

I love Rick Leonardi's artwork, but how on Earth is the 2099 suit winning? Am I that old? The black and white suit was the new hip thing when I first got into comics. I paid $11 for ASM 252 (I started collecting around 271 or so).

I love the original, but there was always something so cool about the black suit. All te rest of the costumes are just silly. 2099's the only one that makes a little bit of sense, but how can it even come close to winning over the original union suit? Like I said, I'm old. Or at least old fashioned.

Loston is right about the 2099 one not really being anything spider-y like. It's a cool design, but really you could throw it on just about any character and it would still be cool.

It wasn't McFarlane (at least that I know of, although he could have done it too, and I'm just not remembering) but it was Erik Larsen who did like a 4 or 5 part story in ASM where he did the costume as red and black as opposed to red and blue.

The original costume is best. There's a reason it's lasted as many years as it has.

The black costume isn't bad, but certainly not the best either.

Iron Spidey is good in terms of design, but isn't Spiderman and can also be placed on a variety of characters with a small tweak here or there.

I gotta say, it's always classic for me. I don't even like the 'gooey' webbing in the movie version. All the other costumes just AREN'T the Man that calls himself Spider. But if I had to choose runner ups it'd b Symbiote Suit, then Iron Spidey (Gold and Red) Gotta love the upgrades!

Origional red-and-blue all the way! It's classic, iconic, completely disquises him, and I love how some artists are able to manipulate its eyes to show Spidey's feelingds.

There is something to be said for the classic Ditko design... it leaves most the others sorely lacking, or a close copy; to be kind. 2099 is my least favorite, to me it puts me in mind of punisher, doing spiderman.... but my daughter made a good point, "it may fit his character.." I'll give her that, seeing that i never read this version.

And at that Batman beyond came to mind, which i hated at first then came to like later.
