Don't blame me I saw this posted at DW and the person who posted it said it was the 9th of Sep.
But after checking the website Fox doesn't list this weekends show as the premiere. So That person at DW screwed up and then so did I.

Yeah, well, there was only chick in Star Wars. She could at least have been R2 instead of Cleveland.

Saw the preview of this a while ago, and it looks pretty hilarious.

Can't wait to see the whole thing. I also wonder if it'll actually be done without nonsequiter vignette jokes? It kinda looks that way.

Way to ruin it for yourselves guys. Geez, a little self control.

Yeaaaahhhh... 'cause 9 minutes of poorly shot camrip footage from a convention preview will completely ruin the 44-minute cartoon. No point in watching the real deal now, those 9 minutes just filled me up.

Keep telling yourself that. Nine minutes out of forty is a lot.
Inkthinker
09-08-2007, 11:15 PM
It's slightly more than 1/5. An hour show is usually (I think) 44 minutes in length.
Either way, I'm not feeling spoilt by a small sampler of a show parodying a famous and well-watched film.

It's closer to 40 twenty minutes of commercials and news breaks yeah about 40 minutes of actual show. Besides I was making a point how people whine and moan about the amount of spoiler stuff on the net but then proceed to watch or look for as much stuff as they can find about the show or movie. How many people have already seen the pilot to Bionic Woman?

I read in my new EW that the part Meg plays is a surprise. I won't click that spoiler if it's in there because I'm looking forward to seeing the premiere. I just got into Family Guy late last year, bought all the DVDs and have been playing catch up all this year. My wife even likes it, and if you knew how much weight that carried in my house, you'd know Family Guy is a funny show.

Waaaapisshhhhhh!!! My all time favorite Family guy is the one where Peter runs over the Roadrunner while Wile E Coyote sits next to him smirking. The whole chicken fight thing is classic. The one where Stewie goes to film Meg and catches her undressing is the one that I literally fell out of my drafting chair and almost broke my neck but continued to laugh like a retard
I don't really like Family Guy all that much anymore, but I love Star Wars so I'll probably watch it...I wonder if it'll be able to top the Robot Chicken SW episode

Yeah, don't then... if she only makes one appearance, then it's in there.
I was more surprised by who plays Obi-Wan. :D

Love how they even snuck in Coach McGurk from Home Movies, probably due to Jon Benjamin doing some voices in a few eps of Family Guy.

That was hilarious indeed. Not enough Darth Stewie. So are they gonna all of them like this? That would be pretty sweet. You'd think that couch gag would've gotten old, but it still made me laugh. That little robot chicken quip at the end was pretty funny too. I probably got the most laughs out of clevand r2-d2. And again, poor Meg, haha.

Yeah it wasn't that funny to me....... It was the rotoscoped or dare I say Sketchup looking models of the spaceships. Kinda threw everything off. The only really good laugh I got was chris' response after the crack about his weight. The old pedophile got too sweet a gig. Otherwise it was just ok.

I liked it. Was a little disappointed that it was only a satire of episode IV, I was hoping for Empire jokes.
Anyone who checked out the sneak preview at SDCC (or the camrip of same on Youtube) might have noticed that they trimmed a couple scenes down for broadcast (the first one I noticed was the one with the Rebels in the hallway at the beginning... the whole bit was trimmed down to just the "what if they come in another door?" line), which leads me to expect a DVD release with additional footage.
I didn't mind the CG scenes, but I think the CG guys were probably having too much fun trying to replicate the original scenes perfectly.

Which is part of what made it for me. I loved how close so many of the scenes were to the scenes in the movie. And I half expected to see them do a quick rewind after Peter/Han shoot's Greedo to retcon it so that greedo shot first, and then do it again so they shoot at the same time. It would have been a good gag.
The old man was funny and so wrong on so many levels, particularly when he saw Chris and his light saber got stiff. HAH!

had a few funny moments, had a few not funny moments.
but i liked the parts where they said what we were all thinking.
ie: the guy taking readings of the millenium falcon landing at the rebel base going pew! pew! gotcha!

It was pretty funny. Not as good as the Robot Chicken spoof, IMO, but still had its moments.
My favorite bit was Darth Stewie and the Empire dude arguing about LA real estate--"There's nothing to do downtown!"
Loved "Fine, stay here, stuck up #&*%."

I also liked the bit at the very end between Peter and Chris over Family Guy and Robot Chicken as an allegorical conversation between Seth McFarlane and Seth Green. Subtext!!

I thought it had a couple good moments, particularly Peter doing the tune to the turret scene (I did that every time that scene started when I was little). But man, that 3-D crap was all over the place! I can understand the ships and vehicles on occasion, but every friggin' mechanical thing was digitally animated, even the stormtrooper guns! It's just plain lazy, and pisses me off.

Outside of a few LOL moments, it was a pretty weak episode.
Though I do appreciate the time spent in duplicating the Star Wars world, identical screen-wipes and all.

I Laughed Out Loud on average once every 3 and a half minutes. Which is a pretty darn good ratio, if you ask me!

For me, it was just OK... Had only a few laughs, but maybe my sense of humour is off... >.o I dunno.
It was kind of interesting that it was done in the first place though, even if the 3D in 2D cartoons kinda throws me off.

It was awesome, just don't like the jokes of that old dude and Chris not my thing. Other than that bring on Empires & Jedi for spoofing.
