Solid Snake vs Sam Fisher?

as much as i love snake, fisher wins because he can jump. and snake always gets captured.

Snake wins hands down. Snake has the guns, the gadgets, the camo, the intel support, and the sneaking ability. Fisher only has the dark. Not to mention Snake has an infinitely better character, back story, supporting cast, and just a better universe to play in in general. Other than Ironside being his voice, Fisher blows.

I get the feeling that Fisher would beat Snake simply because he can cheat. And by cheat I mean hide in the dark with a sniper rifle or pistol with a silencer. But in a fair fight I'd go with Snake. And not the old guy Snake either.

What about infrared goggles, sonar or simple his smokes. Not even the End, a venerable expert sniper credited as the father of modern sniping could handle Snake.

Let me elaberate, Fisher would sit and wait in a room under heavy cover, for Snake to enter and without hesitation shot him down in cold blood. But I still stand by snake winning in a fair fight, all that fisher has is the as stated the dark, it's what he trained to do, to not be seen. Snake can do both I'm sure.

Im talking about SOLID Snake, not Snake from MGS3.

anyway, in a hand to hand combat, i give it to snake. but i think if you put them at opposite ends of a warehouse, with a rifle in each hand, said "GO!" and let them rip, fishers abilit to climb pipes in the wall and hang upside down would give him the upper hand.

although snake has won against stronger enemies...

OK then, what about Sniper Wolf. One of the hottest bosses around, was no problem for Snake. Besides he took care of an M1 Abrams tank, a Hind-D attack helicopter and eventually Metal Gear.
If that doesn't get the job done, he can use the stealth suit provided by Otacon. If Sam could climb pipes, Snake can always use C4 or a stinger misile. That, or break Sam's neck coming from behind.

any other way, snake wins, with his ridiculous ability to pull a missile launcher out of nowhere(!), whereas Sam only carries around up to 6 weapons at a time

Snake was modeled after Kurt Russell. He wins by default based on being connected to one of the coolest cats in the world.

for me it depends...

if solid snake in MGS1 it would be a fair fight against Fisher.
in solid snake in MSG2 i'd go for Snake.
MSG3 i'd say....guess who? Snake again.:)
and if you want to whip Fisher... an old whomp ass kicking
Snake is way better in MSG4 (can Fisher camo' himself in the
middle of a war?hehehe).

just think about this... why not try hand to hand combat?
Fisher's blows are fatal... and direct to the point same as
Snake's CQC ( i think it's based on the movie THE HUNTED).

Solid Snake. His mythos is much grander, which goes a long way when crafting a story.
