Sorry guys I have been without internet since late Friday. My DSL modem died, I had yesterday off from work so today (at work) is my first day back online.
Ok so this week's topic is a little retro and I hope a lotta fun.
Draw/design your own version of ZARTAN (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zartan)!

I thought you wrote "Tarzan". Guess I'm drinkin' too much...

ZARTAN, after "the accident", or: the poster child for why fireworks are now banned at the Cobra base:

The concept I had in mind is a darker, more sinister Zartan, who always seemed like a pretend badass on the cartoon series to me. The idea here is a deadlier, more ruthless leader of the Dreadnoks. He is now submerged in hatred after a terrible explosion has left him permanently disfigured and scarred. It's an old convention, but it's one that always works. Now, with some cybernetic parts and a heart full of rage, Zartan is through playing games with the Joes.

Do you really think this is ready to ink? Maybe I need to work on my rendering skills more? I've unfortunately found that my inking abilities are equal to my ability to pick winning lotto numbers. Dismal.

I don't get some guys who just 'pencil'. If you are an artist you should build on your understanding of everything and use heaps of mediums. It builds your skills and the way you handle different techniques. I'm no expert but try my hand in everything which PJ is good for. Just print out your pencils in duotone. Look in the tips and tech section and do a search.
Be loose with the ink too. It doesn't always have to be polished and precise. If you are starting, have fun first. You'll gain control of once you do more of it.
P.S. If you want crits, you may want to post it in the pencil section. It looks more finished than a sketch.
