Boreanaz Up For "Sub-Mariner"?

"Bones" and "Angel" star David Boreanaz could be up for the role of Marvel comics hero "The Sub-Mariner" reports Superhero Hype.

A scooper for the site says that David recently auditioned for the role in the Universal Pictures project which Jonathan Mostow is directing.

In the comics Namor is the son of a human sea captain and of a princess of the mythical undersea kingdom of Atlantis. Namor possesses the super-strength and aquatic abilities of the "Homo mermanus" race.

Through the years, he has been alternatively portrayed as a good-natured but short-fused superhero, or a hostile invader seeking vengeance for perceived wrongs that misguided surface-dwellers committed against his kingdom.

I think he could fit the look if he slimmed up, but he doesn't seem to have that "edge" to him. I always view Namor as a total prick.

Yeah, it sucks. Boreanzs last movie role was the Crow 3 was it not? He really sucked in that........horribly. And the Rock as the Submariner? No, someone thinner would fit the role better.

Namor has a swimmers build. the rock has a bodybuilders build. just because one of his eyebrows is pointed doesnt mean he should play him.

i hate wrestlers in movies. they always manage to pedigree someone, or rockbottom someone or frog splash someone. that tends to kill the movie for me.

Where is Atlantis (supposedly)? I didn't think it was in the Pacific Islands. I thought it was in or around the Mediterranean. I'm not sure where it's supposed to be according to the Marvel universe, but according to Greek mythology, I wouldn't be surprised if Atlanteans were actually many different peoples, considering that's actually what the Greeks were (albeit mostly "white"). That said I never saw Namor as an asian or mexican or what have you. I always saw him as a Vulcan with wings on his feet.

Most swimmers I've come across have a very broad big build, esp. the shoulders. They just slim as they taper down to the waste.

Lead singer of Rammsteing used to swim in the Olympics and despite the beer gut, he's ****ing huge.


So, i think the Rock has the perfect build, followed by David Boreanaz. Then last Marc Dascacos, who I think kicks ass.
