Hey all, lemme upload some sketches. None of my work ever really gets finished (I consider it finished but that doesnt mean it really is).
This is actually a revamped demon from "How to Draw SuperVillains: - it's a character called Dark Demon.

my point of view is that the demon's head it's kinda bigger for the body proportion, instead in the second sketch the guy that is gonna throw a power his head is smaller fos his body the other two are pretty good man, in the one you asked for an opinion of anatomic issues i only see one in his right arm, the perspective is that is supossed to be behind the guy so it would be smaller than the left arm, but for me your work is really nice actually i'd like to see'em finished.

Analytical drawing should always come first. That means drawing from life. You need to take a life drawing class and learn how to draw analyticaly before learning the short cuts that books usually try to teach you. Knuckles aren't made up of perfect spheres for example; they're tissue, bone and cartilage.
But if you're adamant about using books to learn, I suggest you start with Drawing From the Right Side of the Brain.
Hope that helps.

Fatmancomics, if you're referring to the "dark demon" thing - it's a cartoony thing so I wasn't aiming for perfection. I also study anatomy every day as best I can (I just don't aim for extreme realism every time). Although when aiming for extreme realism, a live model would be nice. Oh and yes you hit it right on the money - I have Life Drawing 1 next semester(Live model!!). I'm gonna post more here tonight, when I scan a pic or two, just so this thing isn't all comments and 3 pieces of artwork!

I know what you were trying to achieve with that right arm (last pic) but it simply looks too short.

heres 3 more works, as promised:

Just a back view of an upper torso - he's suppose to be crawling out of a manhole (considering this guy is suppose to be like 8 feet tall, that'd have to be a HUGE manhole).

sketches & ideas for one of my characters:

Another character concept - I'm see a few problems looking back on it..

Yeah, see this sounds like you're making excuses. I don't know if you read the threads I linked in your "I don't get it..." thread but excuses are a sure fire way to get people to stop posting C&C for your work. Next time someone takes the time to post a critique just say "Thank you" and "I'll work on that" or don't reply at all and show that you chose to listen by not making the same mistakes in future art. Cartoony or not, if an artist doesn't understand the rules he/she is breaking it's evident in their artwork. Your "dark demon" doesn't look much different in style than the rest of your sketches. By style I mean that it doesn't look any more "cartoony" than any of the other sketches.
I don't mean for this post to start any arguments either, and if it does, I won't be responding. I'm just trying to give you the C&C you've been asking for. Again, I hope that helps.

yeah I'd like to formally apologize for making that thread somehow, because I feel like an arse for making it. This is a responsive community - and I was wrong to question it. So, in addition to saying Thanks for the C&C, I'd like to let everyone who checks this thread out, know that I havent posted for 2 reason - 1) I gotta draw more first. 2) The *reason* I havent been drawing stuff for this blog: prepping for a Juried Art Show! Deadline is tomorrow so I'll sketch some stuff. Oh and thanks again dude.

MG Angus (last page) looks like a nice design so far. What did you have in mind when creating it/him/her?

hehe, that characters name is actually "Thunderstorm". As for what I had in mind when creating him, just wanted to draw a character that was refreshing for me. Thanks for the comment!
