Weekly Sketch Group 4

OK folks this week we have a Guest Host for our weekly sketch group. Spidey came up with this week's idea so if you hate it be sure to email him but if you love just send me all the praise and I will be sure that he gets it. ;) :D No seriously it's a cool idea and I hope to see all the familiar faces and some new ones this week. So without further ado this week's topic is

SEA MONSTERS! Arrrrrrrr. Sorry had to.

Sorry Juan but try and think of it this way: if you begin working professionally in the art field you will be asked to do stuff you don't want to do all the time. Granted it would be your job thus you would be getting paid etc. But learning to deal with subject matter you don't like now will only make it easier down the road. Plus one of the hardest parts of being an artist is drawing the things you don't like or that challenge you.
But I see you point I have been rather uninspired lately anyway.

I think this week, I'm just too burnt out...too many things to get done and not enough time in the day to do them...but I'll try to think of something for this week. I rather enjoy these weekly challenges and every Sunday I always anxiously look forward to the next idea. It's just that this week's theme "sea monster" just isn't very interesting to me. I liked your other ideas because you incorporated several ideas and you made the artist think of how to create all those ideas into one image. This week it's just a generic topic...

Did you make suggestions? If I made the themes, then my interest in doing these every week would die very quickly. The thing that I really find appealing to how Manji is doing these is the fact that every week I get a new surprise idea to draw...that's the fun in it. If I made the idea, it wouldn't be fun anymore.

Well its all falling on Manji at this point. You find it generic...then throw some ideas in and maybe we can do amalgamations of our ideas?

It's not taking away from anything...it's called a discussion and since my end of the discussion pertains to this thread and the topic for this week...where else should I post about it? On the Bulletin Board or maybe in the General Discussion area? Don't you think it's more relevant to post it on the thread it actually deals with? Heh. :rolleyes:

maybe we should move this to the weekly sketch sticky?Well, one thing's for certain, Manji is doing a damn good job of keeping this going and keeping things interesting so far. I'll do this one, but I hope next week's topic will be more challenging.

As for the CA thread, why swipe from them? There's plenty of ideas out there...just take a few subject matters, blend them together and tah-dah, instant topic for another week.

If I seem crabby...it's cause I need sleep badly right now. I'm that exhausted...so sorry if I'm coming off as a dick tonight, I don't mean for it to sound like that. Time to hit the hay...zzzzzzzzz.........

I took my nephew to the library today and he totally grabbed a how to draw monster book from right under me. I had some really cool how to monster designs. I didn't really get a chance to look at it though, he didn't want to put it down. Maybe I could've gotten some ideas from that book, but anyways, today I was quite busy, but tomorrow should be a good day for posting.

Just an update on the serpent thing.
