From Screenead.com
DarkHorizons.com is reporting that Smallville’s Tom Welling has signed on for a Teen Wolf remake, although he will not star in the title role first inhabited by Michael J. Fox and later by Jason Bateman. Apparently the producers — in yet another attempt to breathe life into a film franchise that was mediocre at best — will be mixing things up by casting a female in the still vacant role. Honestly, if we’ve gotten to the point where we’re simply going to remake 80s schlock but with gender reversed casting, producers have sunk to a new low.
Prediction: Bad CGI wolf hair abounds, as well as a hilarious montage about a female teen wolf trying to use makeup.

Oh man, what a bad idea. As a kid, I really did like the first one (I have a thing for werewolves. I know, I know, I'm seeing a therapist) and I'll bet Jeph Loeb will sh*t a brick.

There’s going to be a scene where tom welling gets caught in the bathroom garbage, feverously tearing up used maxi pads.
Why a remake? Why not just do Teen Wolf 3: Teen Bitch?

Nothing like a hairy chick to revitalize a franchise.

Oh dear, what's that sound? Yup, the bottom of the barrel has not only been scrapped, it's torn a hole and it's leaking sewage.
A derivative of a derivative. Also anything movie with the words "teen", "young" or "new" in it I'm wary of (the exception being Young Frankenstien)
Still, at least it can't be as bad as the Wicker Man remake (Oh dear)

Dunno why but I read that as
if she dragged her ass across the carpet it would be time for a new girlfriend.

Says you. I'm sure there's a niche market for that.
If Scarlett Johansons in this role, I will watch it but I highly doubt that would ever happen so I'll be skipping this mess. "Teen Wolfette comin out to play....."

Oh my dear god YOUR RIGHT!!!!!!!! Thats going to be for crap. If you give life long enough time it will repeat itself. Any story done in the first place has already been done before, just with different characters and different locations.
Ex.
Ghost(1990) starring Demi More and Patrick Swayze: Story about lover who is murdered and tries to expose the killer/close friend.
The Invisible(2007) starring Justin Chatwin and Margarita Levievia: Stroy about a lover who is murdered and tries to expose the killer/close friend.

I'm just not excited about girl's basketball, even with a werewolf playing.

How about women's boxing? Or women's standing-on-a-moving-truck?

Girls basketball is horrible. Putting more hair on em is ruining the best thing about watching them.

girl's basketball can be hot. maybe not the real life version with 6 foot man-dykes runnin around, but a movie version with tight shirts and a lot of jumping and bouncing ;)
but yea they went with wrestling for part 2 so any sports is really open, unless they already decided on basketball. female mud wrestling anyone?

Actually, The Invisible is a remake of a foreign film of the same name.
