I got a few Essential x-men tpbs and the x-men vignettes tpbs recently and got a little nostalgia going on. I swiped some images of some of my old time favorite artists on those series. Credit goes to John Bolton, Alan Davis, and John Romita Jr.

My punisher for the draw off was so bad I decided to redraw it.
Not a huge improvement but a little better.

Thanks , guys. I appreciate it.

Here's one that goes way back in the Marvel Universe.
Porcupine. The pose is inspired by a Charest Captain America drawing that I saw.

The King Sin design looks good. Is he a character of your own devising?

Yeah, the look was actually inspired here at pj. Somebody commented on a picture of Venom in the Spiderman 3 thread: in the pic it looked like Venom had two sets of teeth, I thought that was creepy and cool, hence King Sin.

It's been a few hundred years since I've been on here. I'm sad to say I haven't improved any since I've been gone, I haven't drawn much at all. I did do a couple advertising pics for my knife business though and I realized how much I missed drawing.
So here's the latest I've done. The Kill Captain circa 1944.

Thanks for looking.

Hill,
My apologies for not getting back to this, no excuses. Sorry about that.
He's holding one of my combat knives. Here's a gallery of a few of them

So yeah, same ol' same ol'. It's been a long while since I've drawn much of anything but I want to try and get back at it regularly. Here's goes nothing.

Some sketches from way back in 08

Reference for these was some old timey rasslers.

These were from last year sometime I think. For an excuse to draw I sometimes do fake advertisements for my knife business, these feature the Kill Captain. He's sort of my unofficial mascot, my idea of what Captain America should be.

WW2 Kill Captain. heh, I put in a picture of the flag in the background on the pencils because I was too lazy to draw it.

The inks. A mock up war bonds poster....I'm horrible with computer stuff hence the crappy lettering and layout.

Finally the most recent stuff. I did these just this week.

Anatomy sketches
http://img87.imageshack.us/img87/9325/sketches121.jpg

Another ww2 kill captain. This one has the infamous airborne mowhawk that some paratroopers wore in the d-day landings. I got this one from an old Commando Comics cover. I thought the "this man is dangerous" line was over the top cool.

http://img267.imageshack.us/img267/6292/killcapdangerousinksfla.jpg

And a sort of steam punk ironman. I've never drawn ironman before and it shows. haha. I was lost trying to render all the shiny stuff so it didn't come out to fantabulous.

Pencils. Sorry for the line, like I say I suck with computers and I don't know how to get rid of it without washing out the pencil lines.

I drew over a John Buscema sketch I found in Rough stuff magazine, thought I might be able to learn something from the exercise.
I traced the outline as if it were breakdowns or something and then inked it.
Here's the original Buscema sketch.
http://img855.imageshack.us/img855/9427/conanbuscemaweb.jpg

Here's me screwing it up. heh.
http://img819.imageshack.us/img819/6179/conanoverbuscemaweb.jpg

So then after that I thought I'd do like a five second after drawing to apply what I learned. Apparently I didn't really learn much. lol. Oh well, I had fun and that's worth something ain't it? Here's the "five seconds after" pic.
