Weekly Sketch Group

Ok Guys I have an idea. What I would like to do is start a weekly sketch group where the participants will sketch out the topic for the week. Such as, one week we will draw a picture of a building that I posted, and the next week could be draw Batman being Batman you get the idea. I hope this will be something people look forward to and that we can all help each other grow as artists.

So in short here are the posting guidelines for the Weekly Sketch Group.

1. Please post your contributions within that week's idea thread.

2. All pieces are up for critique. So don't get upset over any critiques. The purpose of the group is to help each other.

3. Remember the more effort you put in the more you will learn.

4. If you have any ideas just pm them to me and I will include them in the order they were received.

5. This is a volunteer thread. Come and go as you wish, but I hope we do have a lot of participation.

Reminds me a bit of what they do at CA and also the jamborees on PJ (minus the critique) that have disappeared.

This is pretty cool I think I'm gonna start doing these. I always do a few sketches to loosen up before I start working. It's just better to get used to the materials and build confidence to start working.

Everybody is free to join, Eric. The group part my throw some people off. There really isn't an exclusivity in it. All are free to come draw the suggested characters Manji posts each week.

Seems like a common question that always comes up. Maybe you can add a little blurb at the top with the topics when you start a new week Manji. Just a quick something that says the WGS's are open to all and can be posted in anytime no matter how old. Might save everyone involved some time.

Step 3: Scroll down until you see a thread named "Weekly Sketch Group" with a number after it. Example: Weekly Sketch Group 109 (http://www.penciljack.com/forum/showthread.php?t=93708)
Step 4: Click on that thread
Step 5: CAREFULLY READ the first post to find out what the subjects are for that week
Step 6: Draw something with at least one of the subjects from that week
Step 7: Post your drawing into that thread

When (what day of the week, roughly what time) do you post the topics for the new week's sketch group? I'm thinking of participating, but I'm real squeemish, so I'd like as much lead time as possible, at least my first time out. There's no way to subscribe somewhere to get notification in my e-mail, is there?

The groups topics are posted every monday, and they are numbered, this week is #203, so monday there will be a #204 thread. I don't know about a feed to notify you.

Welcome to the group, no need to squeemish about posting, take a look at past sketch group threads. We're all of varying skill levels, and everyone is supportive.

And you can always post to past threads as well, there's no pressure to complete work. It's all just for fun and practice :)
