What are all those extra lines on the building Spidey is on for? Is it a perspective thing?
vctrstigma9
04-06-2007, 07:20 PM
Sorta in theory its for perspective mine's most certainly wrong it was supposed to be a quick backround for a sketch but here's some examples of adam hughes that should explain It's a way to measure make sure everythings equal distance its also to "build off of simple block shapes... uhm example
NOTE-not my art adam hughes for explanation purposes only

http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m41/artofvictor/ww_cov177.jpg
p.s. thanks for the comment :)
Victor, Adam Hughes' stuff works on his buildings because he has a vanishing point and those guidelines (crosses are suppose to measure distances halfway. In the case of your Spidey sketch you need to establish some vanishing points. The way you did your drawing doesn't require the guidelines because everything you've put is of equal distance and parallel. Much like a technical drawing or product designs.
If it doesn't make sense, I'm sorry. Just don't want to do an overlay without your permission. Cool colour stuff by the way.

Juan-s'all good man thanks for stopping in
TGK- hmm well if he's using standard (which he didn't always use ) comic book 11/17 comic paper its printed on it help you line things up, shows trim & bleed areas where to cut for double page spreads etc, Thanks for stopping bye and commenting but if you could please remove the adam hughes image to just a link, I wouldn't want anyone to acuse me of posting art thats not mine plus it would be eating bandwith of my photobucket acount
whew anyway heres a sketch I did in my moleskine while watching a little tv.
http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m41/artofvictor/fashion1.gif
is that three , four updates today?! I wish I would post this much regurlary
http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m41/artofvictor/fashion1.gif
I'm doing fashion illustration for one of my classes and this is great. They are pretty fun to do.
hmm maybe, but i think it has something to do more with the 3 point perspective,
I think it is to guesstimate a vanishing point without drawing one. Inkthinker had something in the tech and tips section. Unfortunately I can"t find it.

You’re a real natural when it comes to contrast! You should start adding some secondary lighting to your work. Get allot of practice on 2-point and 3-point perspectives. Thanks to a PJ member, I’ve found this wonderful site that helped me back 4 years ago. It has most of what you really need to know on 1-point, 2-point, 3-point, and even 5-point perspective. Here is the link (http://www.scottmcdaniel.net/).
