Evander would make a good Roadblock but he can't act and Road Block does speak.

Snake Eyes could be played by any schmoe actor who can flick out a few high kicks, as you never see his face or hear him speak.

Yes, she was pretty major in the comics. So no, I don't see the need to go race swapping for no need other than to placate crybabies. It's certainly not a case of G.I. Joe lacking minority roles. There are plenty.

I'm trying to think of a better casting choice.

Ray Park is the most horribly overrated martial artist by nerds 'round the world. The guy really has done nothing to put him on the level of Donnie Yen or Mark Dacascos. I don't see why he gets the nod other than he was Darth Maul and made a lot of manbabies cream their tighty whiteys.

Further exacerbated by the fact that I've never seen Park in a flick engaging other martial artists; or engaged in any sort of extensive fight choreography to prove his worth.

If you want an obscure white guy go with Gary Daniels (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0199939/) - at least he's proven his worth as a martial artist. Not just fighting thespians Liam Neeson and Ewan Macgregor. :P

Don't know where the hate is coming from on Ray Park. I was just thinking visually of snake eyes with the mask off. And I don't know why he would have to be some accredited martial artist. He could phyisically play the role.

Ashley Judd is probably to big of an actor money wise to hire. I bet that one chick from "the recruit" would work though.

Again, look at his film roles. He's really a low/mid class cinema martial artist. His last "big" role was as Toad and that was completely forgettable; unless you're a Star Wars geek then you got a boner from his Darth Maul wink and nod act.

Seriously man, the guy just doesn't make me go "wow" like Yen, Dacascos, Jaa, etc.

She could work, but both her and Judd would require some gym time. Bridget's a better choice as her face is more angular than Judd's too, which fits Jay.

I think the movie picked some very questionable choices and certain duds to play the roles of the JOES. Can't say that I'm surprised, and I'm certainly not excited about the choices. It's all very "meh".
