View Full Version : The Beatnik's corner- Sketches HO!

Ah, hello everybody. I'm new here, obviously. And fairly new to art, in case it isn't completely obvious. But, I'm trying to improve, thus, why I'm here.
So, it begins. First, a couple of older drawings. A month ago.
A little more recent sketch. A couple of weeks ago.

Oh hoy! No rest for the wicked yet!
Done last week.
Finally, completed a few days ago. Markers.
Ah, I hope I do not get torn to shreds for being so bad, but please bear with me, I'm trying to improve with each sketch. If anyone gives me any advice, believe me, I will listen with hungry ears.

These are very good for someone fairly new to art. How old are you?
Keep drawing. You show a lot of potential! Learn to draw from real life as well as other artists (you've probably heard that before, but it bears repeating). If you ever have the chance, take a figure drawing class or two--they help a lot. Most of all just keep working and you'll get better with time.

Would it be better if I said I was 12? Heh. No, unfortunately, I am late to the party, and am 21. I never took any art classes since... middle school..., or tried drawing anything, until a handful of months ago. I have more then a little catching up to do. Thank you for the comments, though!
More meat for the chopping block.

Wow.....not bad at all for someone so new as you say. You have an excellent grasp of anatomy it would seem....for a beginner.

Ah, a new thing. I've got a tablet, now, and this was done entirely with it.
