Wow, that's really nice.
For the paper, did you use a displacement map from Photoshop or did you do that by hand ?

Nah I just grabbed a stock image of parchment paper then drew the images on it. No reason to get all complicated for the frosting.

For draw-off not finished but it was good to take a break from other stuff and try to break out of the art slump I've been in.

All digital. Wacom & Photoshop CS2. Although lately I've really gotten burned out on digital stuff.

I hate doing sequentials because I constantly question my storytelling, which makes me constantly redo the pages so I end up not making any head way. Anyway here are two of the pages I scanned in and started coloring. I will scan the others in a couple days and finish these this weekend. First is a cover concept

Manji, absolutley love what you got here, each panel is a work of art. Especially love the town square panel, the lighting is amazing. I am horrible with names, but I do recall seeing a comic with a similiar style, but I actually think yours shows better, and think that you could deffinetly draw for Marvel or DC, but would rather see you in an independent in something Avant-garde.

Manji, as always your rendering is beautiful, and it's nice to get some insight into your process. The storytelling is solid but I would point out that there is no space for word balloons in some of your panels. I read once that the first thing Kevin Nowlan does is lay out space for word balloons and then begins pencilling so that he knows exactly how much room he really has to work with. It seemed like a good idea to me. But don't second guess your storytelling; it's fine.

Thanks guys and also thanks for the heads up on the word balloons...wasn't thinking on that one.

I'm working on getting accepted to a college in my area, and I'm thinking about getting some life-drawing classes. I definitely could use the anatomy practice, my anatomy sucks.

Go for it. The figure drawing classes I go to are just $10 for 2-3 hours. Check out craigslist to find groups in your area

My biggest issue right now (short of being a broke bum at my father's house:D) is that I get REALLY impatient with my drawings, when I get an idea I want it on paper right then and there, and I tend to cut corners. I might make an advice thread for that later, I'm sure I'm not the only one with that issue.

Believe it or not I have a ton of stuff I need to post. Just been in a weird don't want to show my work kind of funk. Anyway here are a few things I had scanned that I showed a few people way back when. I will have more coming soon, just gotta scan it. I've really gotten where I do less and less digital stuff. Mainly just do it for concept work like the soldier below.
