I am becoming unpleased with this title (Threads title is that way because I forget which name comes first) . This is an analysis of the series so far.

I first got into this series around maybe issue #13 (After enjoying it for a few issues I went and got the previous ones so I am up to date) or so, and at the time I was also getting into "Cable and Deadpool" (one of the few marvel books I like) And I began liking this series for the same reasons I liked that one, I even think of it as the DC version of "Cable and Deadpool". I liked it because, it was a universe of the DC characters but seperate from the main continuity line, where people had more freedom and could have fun, throwing in wild cameos and crazy storylines etc. I also liked that it was humorous but not a parody or satire, just kind of silly . I also think these comics tend to capture the characters personality alot better in these books. Another thing I enjoy about these comics is they are more like what I used to read when I was a kid, they arent trying to be edgey or stylish or modern really, like hip or cool . SInce they use humor in the stories though the stories are more effective and arent corny or dorky , they are actually enjoyable because they are taking some outlandish stuff and not being 100% serious or trying to make it believeable. However it seems in the last few issues of Superman/Batman they are trying to change this, and turn it into a serious book . The art has changed )I know the series has gone through several artists and that one issue had a different artist every page) However it always had a somewhat cartoony, artistic feel , these last few issues even have a more serious artistic approach as well . I think that the cartoony art added more to the appeal of the book as well .

I am unhappy about this because basically they are taking a series that WAS unique and turning it into every other poorly written poorly drawn melodramatic soap opera that DC has . Save for All-Star Superman that is a really well done book!

They had a book that I think had a good following (at least at my LCS most new issues were bought and they ordered ALOT) . DC also had a series that was different than 90% of their books because it was lively, entertaining, enjoyable , I dont see why they want to have every book of theirs be the same, they could use some variety and I think this book was a step in the right direction of gaining that variety. However I fear with these newer issues they are going to lose the charm this series had. The other thing I liked about this book was the cover was never misleading ; A- the art actually looked liked the art inside the book , and B- the cover actually depicted what was happening inside the book! They still havent lost that, however these last few issues have been pretty bad .

It might just be a bad story arc and bad set of writers/artists for it, but I am disapointed , I hope though that they do not ruin it and turn it around for the better.

I like Superman because he's a good samaritan and does good. Batman is OK, but he's got no powers so he's not as good as Superman. No powers, no good.
