Okay, I'll bite. This seems like fun.

For my first entry, I was trying to get Tony Stark/Iron Man down. Still working on it.

Nice!

You captured Tony Stark really well I think.

Iron Man is kind of a pain to draw, at least for me. hahaha. I think you have done well so far, although that bottom left is coming off C3PO by way of Tripping the Rift.

I'm sort of frightened by his Iron-Butt. I think it does look a bit too much like chaps down there. I've got the Adi Granov issues I'm going to try to use as reference. I just love how he and Steve McNiven depict the armor.

Really working on my anatomy. So I'm doing a lot of life drawing (well, life from books drawing) and muscle studies.

First, legs (and Cyclops)... and yes I realize it now looks like Cyke is blasting some poor guys in the genitals. Thats what happens when you try to fill up a page.

Next, intbetween studies I thought I'd mix it up sith something just sort of fun, to try to use what I learn...

Next up, Torsos.... (which, in retrospect, I wish I had done BEFORE the Vision pic)

Hey, nice work! Drawing from reference, then immediately turning around and applying what you've learned to your own work is the quickest way to improve in my experience. Continue on this path and I'm sure you'll notice huge results. Good luck!

Thanks pencilpunk!

To (hopefully) illustrate that point:

Practice with anatomy. The pose is a bit stiff, and the legs perhaps a bit stumpy. But I was happy overall.

Okay, so I decided to focus on drawing women for a bit...

But I got in one pic of Wiccan:

So, I draw women:

http://pics.livejournal.com/jonwes/pic/0006rx95.jpg

I liked the way they turned out okay, but I decided I defintely needed to brush up on the anatomy of women. So I got a new book that looked good (way too many anatomy books skimp on women)....

So I drew pages and pages of women, just sketching as I go. I won't reproduce all of them, but here are two random ones:

I think I got it down a little better eventually.

So I tried a pic of a woman:

Not sure about the pose but I think the anatomy is pretty solid.

Then, I decided to just try to sketch two people embracing. It's not always the easiest thing to do and make it look natural. I was actually pretty happy with the way it turned out. Somewhere along the way the two people turned into The Vision and The Scarlet Witch.

And, this is neither here nor there but the other day I got so depressed by world events I made this quick digital painting.

I thought I'd post this too. It's just a digital sketch of a concept I've had in my head for a long time called "Next Eden"
