Maybe I'm a little lost with this book but it just appeared at the PX here on base with issue 149. I picked it up and saw that there was no inside numbering telling me which part of the story it was. So after reading it I was slightly lost. I did pick up with this issue and the issue after that Batgirl Cassandra Cain is now a bad chick and can talk? Is this something that happend during that "missing year?" or before the Infinite Identity Omac Crisis Project?
The art is beautiful. It's got a real cool cartoony feel without getting over the top. In fact it's the first and main reason I picked it up. Freddie Williams' art is fantastic and I'd love to see more of. I like the fact that Robin is on the run from the law. I always thought of the Bat family more as outlaw boogeymen. It keeps the action up and the need for stealth which all the Bat characters should be. Stealthy badasses. There we go.
It's been a while since I've picked up any DC book. I really enjoy their minis and event books (Identity Crisis, Infinite Crisis, OMAC Project) but could never really enjoy their monthlies. The last time I picked up Robin was wwwwwaaaaayyyyy back in the day. Roughly 10 years ago. I read his adventures in the Teen Titans but lost interest in the title and I can really see Tim Drake falling into the role of Batman as time goes on. I'd really like to get back into some of the DC characters again and it seems Robin is a good place to start.
