View Full Version : Astrocity's "How I Learned to Love the Sketchbook"
06-23-2006, 01:33 AM
I've been trying to do a page a day in my sketchbook, since I dunno... last week. So far it's working out, I'm certainly drawing more than usual. Some of the stuff is referenced other isn't. There's a bit of everything, whether it be imagination, ref, or gesture drawing. Here it goes.
Under each picture is a link to the picture in my deviantart marked "bandwidth" if photobucket gives out.

These are looking great, i love seeing work at this stage. Also gives me ideas on how I should approach my sketchs.
Really love the hand studies, and the looking up perspective shot.
Great work keep em coming

Thanks, glad you enjoy them and that I can be of some help. The ones I posted yesterday were the most recent... these are from maybe a week or two ago...

Not real sure if this is a "finished" product or a "sketch" but it was in my sketch book and it lacks a background so I'm putting it here :p Ended up drawing it too far down and the feet got cut off... err, oh well.

dunno what it is about your style...but I find it really appealing. What comes to mind when I look at it is that it looks fluid and clean. I really luv it.
Great stuff in the 4th post.

Austere: Thanks I appreciate it. I wouldn't really call this stuff my "style" since I tend to change what I'm doing based on what the subject is I'm drawing. :) Anywho... here's a concept to completion work.
And a link to the finished pencils. (http://www.deviantart.com/view/35389276/)
Dunno how much I'll be posting here in the next few days, working on a new picture, the sketch book will have to wait :p
