Since we here on Teh Internets like to speculate, I thought I would pose the following:

Just going on what you've seen so far, which flick will make your inner nerd squeal with delight more?

I'm going with Big Blue.

I'm eager to see both movies, but X3 is the one I'm most excited about.

Here's the deal:

I think SUperman Returns is going to be a better movie, honestly. It's going to look better, it's going to be more cohseive, and the action and effects are going to be of a far-higher quality.

That being said - I STILL want to see X-Men III, more.

OK, it's obvious that Superman has the wider fanbase, because well it's Superman.

However, looking at the people who actually go to the cinema now (and in larger numbers) and I think you're looking at X-Men 3 as the winner.

Plus I'm still not convinced by Superman Returns.

I just watched this superman preview on some crappy "entertainment" news source (like E! but not...) And boy superman looks a lot better then I thought it would (I'll try to find a link)... And then I watched the "fastball special" pre-view scene, I lost all hope for X3.

I voted for Superman... I wish I had hope for X3, but I don't.

You say that- everyone assumed King Kong would be a massive box office hit and it wasn't.

Mind you that year was weird. All those quality films and Fantastic Four, Wedding Crashers and Narnia were the big hitters? Weird.

550 million dollars says otherwise.

In my opinon, the X-Men movies do not hold up over time. Every time I re-watch the first one, it gets worse...

"Hey, lets all stand around in the Stanton Island museum waiting for the next thing to happen to us!"
Mystiques 'claws' getting hacked off in her fight with Wolverine? Wha? Blood?Death?

The second one is better, but again, I can't see it aging well.

Who directed these films? Jeez! Superman Returns is gonna be so much better because thats directed by...erm...Bryan Singer...

Heh heh!
Seriously though, even though I have only watched a bunch of clips, I have more faith that Supes will prove the better movie.

That's worldwide as opposed to domestic, right? It was regarded as a relative failure anyway (not by me.)

Like I said it was a weird year- strange to think that 7 of the top 10 were grossing $100m at one point but it's seen as a bad year!
