really good stuff. i like your sketching style a lot. one thing i'd say is that quite a few or your portraits, while good, seem to have reduced headmasses and larger faces. don't be afraid to give them more hair, or larger hats.

It keeps getting better...
I love everything man, from your figures to the boldness of your strokes. Only a minority of your faces sometimes are under the level of the rest. You're going to be big.

From what I read on your site, looks like you've eventually decided to pursue an artistic course (I somewhat remember you having doubts about that). How right you are!

A quick question on how you construct your heads (which definitely work): you seem to just draw the ovale outline freehand and then place the eyeline in the middle (as opposed to the Loomis way of drawing the sphere and constructing the rest afterwards by using various mathematical ratios). Is it really how you procede, or do you erase the construction line afterwards? it just seems quicker and fluider the way you do it.

The thing I'm really digging on is your use of charcoal. That's a real hard medium for me to use with just the regular stuff and you make it your personal ballerina white on black. Color me envious.

Those face studies really helped your work improve a lot. Your figure work has also become more solid and believable. My suggestion: Don't get stuck on super heroes. All these pages were fun to look at.

Aztek: Thanks, I would be troubled to have to draw batman like he is normally in the comics for a living, the blue and grey would always bug me. He needs to be totaly utilitarian.

Harcore: Appreciate it! Drawing batman is how I've learned to draw (him and ninja turtles) so drawing him is like a flashback to why drawing is fun for me.

Jel: With the heads I change it up sometimes. I always regard the process in how to draw books as an example of process, a way to visualize what the artist does, but I've never felt it useful to actually draw 3-dimensional shapes, seems to come out a bit flat. For faces I usually do an oval with a line through. Sometimes I'll put a circle for the skill and an oval around that, I havn't really nailed down a consistent method yet. Thanks for commenting!

Your Batman is one of the best visions of the character I've ever seen. IMO his face is a little long, but that's hardly a crit... ugh, all this great art and I hardly get any drawing done.

Frito: Mismach pens and markers. Any colors that you rarely see are prisma color markers. Lately for ink I've been using plain old ball point pens and those funky calligraphy brush pens.
