well, metroid prime: Hunters came out on the nintendo DS today, and i gotta say it freaking rocks. we've already had some multiplayer mayhem at the office, and i'm REALLY impressed with what the single player has to offer. I can't believe everything they crammed in to that little DS cart.
here's some info on it:

online and wi-fi multiplayer
voice chat with friends in lobby
pure metroid goodness.
when i get home, i'll take it online and get my "hunters liscence" so i'll post that friend code here when i do. anyone else getting this?

damn, Nobody?
we had a great multiplayer match at lunch. it's the loudest trashtalking in these here halls since the days of the great mario kart tournaments.
you guys are missing out on a killer DS title

i'm a nobody on here, but i just got it. aiming takes some getting used to since you control it via stylus OR by using the a,b,x,y buttons.
i shall try multiplayer tonight since single player seems a bit lacking so far.

I wasn't really a huge fan of the demo. Seemed really boring.

What's the single player like? I never played the demo.

single player is just like a quake or doom clone. i cannot compare it to the metroids released on the gamecube since i have never played those before. it's just not the old school Metroid that i am used to, i'm a bit biased. i'm hoping that as i advance and find more secrets and stuff it will get better but so far it's just meh.
you basically run from room to room and solve a "puzzle" to open the next door to do the same thing in another room. it's broken up by random battles and a boss fight against another "hunter". the control setup is awkward and really stresses out my hands. left trigger shoots, d pad moves, stylus aims and double tap the screen jumps.
multiplayer is kinda fun, i think that's the biggest selling point of this game, although i have yet to play with a full group and a game other than battle mode. but it's just a quake or doom clone on a smaller portable platform. i do like how they give rankings so you aren't always grouped with these awesome players.
edit - gamespot (http://www.gamespot.com/ds/action/dsmetroidprimehunters/review.html) has a different opinion. i'll give the game more play time this weekend

Anyhoo, I bought it today, but I haven't even got the plastic off yet. I wanted Tetris, but it's like rarer than the chupacabra or something.
