Vampires vs Werewolves

Vampires,
Pros-
They live for a long time (right?).
Turn into bats for easy getaways.
Have a loyal following of 14 yr old goth kids that complain about how hard life is but still live with mommy and daddy.

Cons-
Need blood to survive.
The whole wooden stake through the heart thing.
Daylight.
Crucifixes.
Holywater.
Garlic.


Werewolves,
Pros-
Super human strentgth, heightened senses, agility the whole shebang.

Cons-
They only turn at full moon (right?).
Silver bullets.

My vote:
Anyone smart enough to attack a werewolf while they're in human form, or anyone smart enough to attack a sleeping vampire during the day.

*they must drink blood or die. werewolves have no such difficulties
*they can't go out in daylight. too bad werewolves can
*can't cross moving water. their furry foes laugh at this one
*they have to bite you one the neck cos their teef is too small for much else whereas werewolves have a huge mouth full of them.

i say werewolves are infinitely better than pansy vampires.

well as a werewolf i wouldnt have to worry about feeling guilty for eating people but dying if i chose not to (in some werewolf legends that is). I could lock myself in a cage and be fine the other 29-30 days of the month.

Then again i figure changing over looks a bit painful.

it's not just goth though, it's also punk, skater, pop culture (i.e you can get TONS of graphic tees of your favorite film/tv show), and anime (TONS of anime).

It's a great place to wander about and see what the heck's laying about. and every time i go in they have the clash, or the sex pistols, blonde, something 80s, or metallica/perfect circle-ish playing. So i'm usually happy there. Better than the ambercrombie and finch let me see how anorexic i can get to i can fit my polo shirt and not have to worry about big boobs... bleh. lol... sorry went on a rant there. Man, you need to brush up on your werewolf like a mother****er.

If you touch a werewolf with cold iron, they turn back into a human. Or you could just gesture the sign of the cross at them. Werewolves have tons of weaknesses. As far as the blood drinking thing, werewolves have to feed when they transform, making them mindless berserkers. Vampires never had fangs. If a person can break skin with normal strength what makes you think a vampire is going to have a problem? Silver is okay, but werewolves are just as susceptable to beheadings and impaling through the heart. Werewolves also harbor an irrational fear of water. Splash them with holy water, call them three times by their Christian name. All these things can deter a werewolf.

I know what you guys are thinking, "these rules aren't found in my LARPing handbook!" Probably true! Don't forget to pick up your fursuits from the dry cleaners.

Vampires can suffer daylight. In Stoker's version they do. I just recall Eddie Izzards funny mime on low-powered vampires during the day that just go "pppbbbbttt" at people going by. Hah, he's brilliant.

Anyway, I vote vampires - they're just cooler than wet-dog-smelling werewolves.

Vampires are undead and can become wolves, just as they can become fog, rats, or bats. So nothing can happen to them when a werewolf bites them.

Werewolf...ism is sometimes considered to be a lower form of vampirism, or at least closely related. Remember that in order to become a vampire, one first has to die, so the werewolf curse wouldn't come into effect afterwards. (thats another point for above, werewolves are not undead and therefore posess no supernatural strength enhancements beyond their physical limitations, whereas a vampires strength is proportional to its age and how recently it has fed)

someone neglected to mention that a vampire can hypnotize only when you make eye contact and can't go any where they are not invited. but that can be remedied with their powers of hypnosis. this just strikes me as weird but say for instance their is a female werewolf whose transformation coresponds with her period would that make her twice as deadly or would the cramps, blotting, and mood swings give you a better chance of survival. i'm uncertain on who would win in this one but part of me wants to say werewolf because of previous posts that is if their is a strength increase when you become a were wolf. that vampires are overused and lame.
