John Constantine vs. Jesse Custer

This one would be interesting, but I think Constantine would take it. Custer is a little careless, and I think Constantine is much too devious for him. If he can trick the Devil, he can beat Custer.


And FYI, we're talking the Constantine of the comics, not the movie.

I love both constantines.

I see them as two entirely different entities, but i really do love the film. It was a nice dark piece about redemption and facing your own personal demons (LUVED that they stuck with him having lung cancer) Rachel was great, Gavin did well, Tilda was AWESOME and well Keanu... Keanu wasn't acting, but isn't that what we expect from him now? brooding grumpy smoker? And isn't that what Constantine is?

I'm sorry i just liked it. But that's just me.

Good matchup!! I'm voiting Jesse because I have a bunch of Preacher graphic novels - and I only known Constantine from the movie with Keanu - who I still havent forgiven for Matrix 3.

I know little about either. I've watched the Constantine movie and I really thought it was quite good. Apart from its... um... unique... theology.

I think it depends greatly on who gets the drop.

If John knew what he was getting into, I'm pretty sure he'd be better at strategy than Jesse, and find a way to work around Jesse's voice, but if he didn't know to expect it, he'd have a hell of a time working his way around it.

If it came down to a toe-on-toe knuckle dinner, then I'm giving it to Custer. That man will **** you up without remorse... Constantine probably would as well, but I think Custer would throw down first and that'd probably be about it.

Being that John's at more of a disadvantage when we assume that neither knows the other's capabilities, and I think Jesse'd kick his ass in a fair one-on-one (though neither man is fool enough to fight fair), I'm giving mine to Custer.

But that's a damn good match, lot's of room to argue it.

Hey, Custer plays fair, most of the time.

Like Ink said, it basically depends on the situation they're in. If Constantine knows what's up with Jesse, he'll pull some kind of trick and take it.

I'm giving my vote to Constantine on the assumption that they DO know who they're fighting. If Custer gets an edge early on though, it's all him.

Jesse Custer is pretty damn crafty. So is COnstantine.
One is Texan. The other is British.
I'm leaning towards Jesse.
