Thought I would share a great comic that was very overlooked before it's end.
Even though the series is over, if you can find back issues or if it's been collected, The Human Target was a well written and just plain cool series.
My favorite part of the series was that it deal with moral, social, and psychological issue all at once. It also managed to put together self contained stories while also building the character and ultimately ending with a great thought provoking conclusion.
For me, it was a bit of James Bond mixed with the A-team. Quite often the hero would find himself intervening to help damsels and right a few wrong, in a very violent fashion quite often.
BTW, the hero's job is taking on people's aliases, usually when they are threatened by someone that can't handle. He becomes the said person, going to their job, hanging out with their friends, and etc, trying to flush out the threat to the persons life, and taking care of that threat usually with a few gunshots.
He also is hired just to become a person for other less dangerous reasons.
The series is very well draw by Cliff Chiang, who does a very minimalistic approach that draws you in with his storytelling. He does an excellent job getting across the "James Bond" super-mack quality of the main character also.. yes he's a player at some points as well.
It would be sad for this comic not to see more eyes before it fall into obscurity.
And the ending will really twist your mind. It won't disappoint, and you'll walk away question yourself and thinking about your own sanity.
I loved it.
