Anyone pick this game up besides me?

Got it for my cube and it is damn good so far. The art direction is very nice and the game controls fine (despite what any review site says). The more I play this game the more it draws me in. It has such a diffferent vibe than any other game, freaky weird too. I wish it was in pro-scan but it still looks pretty killer...er I mean awesome. ;)

As of now I would rank it in the mid 8 range (out of ten, actually I would rank it higher than that but it's new so I have to try and ignore the newly found excitement and be reasonable). Very "refreshing" game compared to everything that's currrently on the market.

Id be interested in playing this just because of the references made to it in RE 4

What were all of the references? I remember there was a killer 7 pistol and I think something else but I don't remember anything that sticks out.

It did get a lot of mixed reviews but damn I just don't see why. Sure it has a weird storyline, extremely mature themes and unconventional controls but not one of those areas actually sucks. Not one.

All I can think of (and this is just throwing out stereotypes) is the people who gave low scores either had the wrong impression of the game or their first gaming system ever was a PS2 or xbox.

So what there's no camera that you can spin around 360?, it's not needed. You have paths to choose and believe it or not there is exploring involved. Stray paths can get complicated if you make it that way. This game is great so far and I just don't see why people are throwing low scores at this game.

I am pretty interested in checking this one out. I see the demo for it at work all the time and it is entertaining.

Yeah it looks cool as hell. I don't think it will have mass appeal, but it's the same team who made RE4 isn't it? A lot of game reviewers are too cynical about these things, and coming from me, that's pretty damn cynical...they claim to want innovation and originality, then criticise games that have different play mechanics and whatnot than what they're used to.
