Welcome to week nine of Penciljack's official weekly Jamborees!

This week's Jamboree is the "Mustache Jamboree!".

I'd like to consider this National Mustache Awareness Week. If you look around, one of our country's most valuable resources is slowly becoming extinct! The mustache (or moustache, as pompous assholes call it) thrived for many years on the lips of millions of the most masculine men and women our fine country had to offer. Some of our greatest Presidents had them. CHESTER ARTHUR, anyone?! Uh, yeah. That's what I'm sayin. Okay, so he wasn't that wonderful...but TEDDY ROOSEVELT?! Now THERE was a man's man. And why? Because he rocked the 'stache.

But as of late, the once proud and noble mustache can usually only be found on perverts, cops, and uncles.

We need to bring a national awareness to how important the mustache really is. I appreciate the effort [adult swim] put forth last April (http://secretninjahideout.homestead.com/mustacheswim_op_800x719.jpg) toward Mustache Awareness...but it was only a baby step. We need to shout our love of mustaches loud and proud. So dear friends, take some time off of your busy schedules and participate in this fun weekly activity. Remember, this isn't for crits, or competition, or anything other than fun. Well, actually, this week it is. This week it's for AWARENESS. Mustache Awareness.

And for fun, let's also include with your jig a picture of you with a mustache. Photoshop if you have to...or do as I do and WILL yourself a lipwarmer.

it's weird, i try to get everyone i know to grow a mustache, but i've never had one myself. damn my light colored facial hair! blonde mustaches are never a good thing.

Friends, friends! Its time to put this conflict to an end!

Beards are no less manly than moustaches, and moustaches no more beards! Each are equal and proud representations of manliness. Just as there have been mustachioed Presidents, there have been mighty bearded Presidents. Abraham Lincoln, and others, for example!

That said, there is a difference. The beard is the wild and hearty oak, while the moustache is the skillfully trimmed and pruned shrubbery. The art of the moustache is similar to the exotic eastern bonsai. It is an expression of ones inner self made physical and facial, be it dapper gentleman, puppy-kicking biker, booty-plundering pirate, or gay highway patrolman. This practice even extends to the length and manner in which one wears his beard!

So let us not squabble over our differences, but celebrate our common whiskers! Bearded brothers, moustachioed brothers, I beseech you, rejoice and unite!

(However it is not manly if you shave it into a tiny thin line that comes off your ears and circles around your mouth like someone drew on you with a ballpoint pen, thats not manly in the least, you should be ashamed of yourself.)
