Those little green and red squares? And why does mine say "The Bride can only hope to improve"? What does it mean?

Okay, I see what it is. Hmmm...
Seems like most of this started from the question I asked "Did Alex Ross Paint George Bush On the Cover of Time Magazine." I had geeks freaking on me cause I asked a question, then I made a mom joke and the thread got closed! Okay! Cool, now I have to be careful about asking other fanboys questions around here! :)

I wouldn't worry about it too much. It's not like G-men are gonna come take your internet away.

I've used it kinda of a gauge to see how serious to take that person, like when I'm asking for C+C. It just gives you a better feel of the comments. I guess you can call it the Better Business Bureau of the forums. ;)

I was actually coming here to ask about this very thing... I was also going to ask if anyone had a "questionable" reputation... until now I thought everyone either got green marks or no marks at all...
I don't really get it either... or why I have "18 points" or what 18 points is on a scale of.
I suppose I'm glad someone thought to give me a green mark and 18 points. So thanks very much for that whomever you kind folks may be! :D
But I don't understand it much myself.
I've thrown some good, green points to a few people I thought were clever, or entertaining, or helpful... I didn't see an option to give bad points, though I don't think I would give them if I could... If I have an issue with you I will just bring it up to you rather than "damage your reputation" and say to myself, "so there!" But that is just me and I'm not saying it is right or wrong, just that I don't feel I would do it.
I looked this whole thing up in the FAQ but I didn't find anything.
I will say that if you give c+c and take it seriously and really try to be constructive, then people will see that and probably not look at your red and green squares up there. If you just pop off and say rude pointless stuff, then that is probably a guage for someone to see if you are, indeed, to be taken seriously.
If any of the "powers that be" can, in fact, shed some light here, I would be fascinated to learn! I have been curious about the "rep" thing since I have returned.
Thanks for reading,
Chris!
P.S. Just out of curiosity... does anyone have TWO red squares??? Is there a point where you get "voted off the island"???

I'm kinda backed up at the moment - there are several threads here in this forum explaining reputation, but most important is it's gonna be reset once I get the documentation established.
