View Full Version : no more brosnan?
http://filmforce.ign.com/bond/articles/508/508722p1.html
It does appear, though, that the chances of Pierce Brosnan opting to return – or being asked to – as 007 are getting more and more remote. Brosnan seems hellbent on returning to the franchise only if Quentin Tarantino directs him in a remake of Casino Royale. MGM seems disinterested in that approach.
no no no mgm dosnt like that...then they might have a blockbuster on their hands.
brosnan is by no means the best bond but hes better than the other people listed there.

It would so rock if Quentin did it.

I think Hugh Jackman could pull it off.

Who knows, it might suck or it might kick a lot of ass, but either way I'd like to see what QT did with it.
And I'm down with Brosnan as 007.
But really, the franchise isn't that important to me either way. At this point, they'd HAVE to have a cool director for me to even glance at it.

I love the Bond movies for some reason.
Anyway, I'm all for QT doing Casino Royale but I understand why the Brocollis don't want to do it. It would be very different than what Bond has developed into. Casino Royale has very little action and Bond gets his nads electrocuted for a really long time. And he is totally in love with a chick that isn't that into him.
So I understand their reluctance. However, it'd cost a lot less, guarantee a popular Bond actor and include a name director. Also, QT promised he wouldn't muck with the continuity or kill off main characters or change the tone completely. I personally would like to see it made. But not like the Thunderball remake. I still like Bond to have his theme music, pre-credits action, M, Moneypenny, Q and so on.

I mixed up a few letters and thought this thread was about Bronson, Charles Bronson. And I thought to myself, "well of course no more Bronson, he's dead." But then I figured it out and felt silly.
R.I.P. Charles Bronson 1921-2003

:(
Well I know Bond is supposed to be a retired Naval commander yet I've heard at Dark Horizons mention of Orlando Bloom and Heath Ledger. If that happens, you know they destroy Bond to make him more like triple X, I will not see another Bond movie. They should stay with Brosnan, hes doing fine.

and qt making a bond movie might be the best thing since the first dalton movie, it would help the franchise getting out of the silly movie area.. i mean.. how many young folks or women do you know that really like the bond movies? i dont think its enought that they only entertain.. they should be more like thrillers than comedy..
...o...k....

Ditto. I was going to say that this thread was a year too late. But enough of that, back to the 007 talk.
I think Bond just ceased to be good movies after Ian Fleming stopped writing the stories. And NO ONE beats Connery at being Bond! Brosnan -pfah - prom queen fairy Bond, no good, no good.

The way Hollywood has been going lately Id say theres a good chance of seeing that f-ing moron Ashton Kucher as Bond.
Ehh, I guess I've grown used to seeing Brosnan as Bond. I remember when I first saw him doing bent knee push-ups in his first Bond movie. Lol

on the subject of Ashton Kutcher..
what's the deal with the skit intros he does? Is he trying to act like a dick, or is that just his 'comedic style'?
On the subject of Pierce Brosnan..I think he's as good as you're gonna get for now.

Eric Bana, Heath Ledger and Orlando Bloom.
i say again: Eric Bana, Heath Ledger and Orlando Bloom.
now, i personally think that Brosnon is the best Bond. however, i also think Bond movies have grown tired. the character and idea are played out and the franchise should've gracefully bowed out years ago with a "reunion of the bonds" in 007: Battle of the Bonds.
casting either one of these less than...good actors will sink the Bond industry to the bottom of Loc Obscurity.
