All the anime/manga fans are going to hunt me down with pitchforks and flaming torches for this one because I didn't do an anime style pic in cell style colouring.... but guess what? I don't care!!!!!! I'm happy with it.

Pencils - David Finch, Inks - Walden Wong and colour by me of course

Comments welcome as always

cheers
Sean

I started to color this a while back, your version is very spiffy. The version I have didnt have that guy in the ball tho.

wait, did you ink that? Or did you just color it? Or both? (forgive me, I'm new). I like your coloring a lot. It's attractive. You use Photoshop? CorelDraw? Hmm?

Bad call, mate. The styles are just too conflicting. It really detracts from the work you did.

I usually dig your skintones more than anything else and you did a good job here, just remember to watch where your lightsources are and keep them consistent. The sword thingy is projecting a shadow down on her leg, but her boot is throwing one up to her leg.

Color wise, I don't really dig how you highlighted the black/metal parts with pure white. There's very little pure white around and that just doesn't look good. Think about the lightsource and give it a subtle tint.

Fortunately for you I don't see an anime-style pic and stamp it "awesome". There's a lot of stuff here that you need to work on. I've seen you make a lot of improvement since you started posting color work. Here's to the journey, mate!

element: If you want anime stuff go check out PolyKarbon (http://b19.ezboard.com/bpolykarbonbbs). I haven't been there for a couple years, but that was the general slant of the place when I left.
