Critiques for short stories?

Hey guys! I was just wondering, is it okay for me to post short stories that I've written here and receive criticism? I know that most of the written material on here are comic book scripts. I like to write comics and I'm also trying to break into other aspects of work involving writing namely novels and short stories. Do you guys read this kind of stuff or is there a comic script only rule?;pencil;

It is allowed, but don't "over do" it. Comic related material is what PJ is about and it means in the writing too. I've advocated for us to allow poems and stuff that are not comic related but if it gets carried away then we'll have to make an official rule against it... and I don't want that to happen.

But, you have the offical blessing of the mod for this forum to post some of your shortstories. :D

don't post a new one every day... There shouldn't be more than a few of them on the front page at a time. You won't "get in trouble" but I might PM you and ask you to slow down :D

Generally, feel free to post what you like. Don't worry about it... but just don't load up the forum with a bunch of non-comic related stories. (Heck, short stories that are comic related are fine and that gives some latitude as well) .

There is no "hard, fast rule" about what is "over the top" or anything (or I would have said "you can, but you can only post 8" or what ever) but the main thing is that when someone comes to The Writers' Desk that they can see that it is a forum dedicated to the writing aspect of the Comic Book industry. If all they would see is short stories and poems (for example) then it doesn't have that comic book thing going.

The only reason that I even mentioned all of this is that about 6 months ago we had about a dozen threads on poetry going. I myself posted a poem on a thread. But it got, quite innocently, so that the first page had nothing but poetry threads. I'd like to avoid that and I don't think that you were ever intending to do that. I should have just kept my mouth shut :D
