How do you get rid of smilies? The thing at the bottom says you can't post attachments because smilies are on, but I can't seem to figure out how to get rid of them. The Disable Smilies doesn't seem to work right or something. Someone please help me?

If you mean directly post the image in the screen It doesn't always work, It has work for me just two times, any way you can write the link to the page, not as atractive, but it works

something would also work if you would ask questions in the general discussion forum.... smilies will just work wether you post a direct image or a direct link so further more i don't know what the problem must be. And the best way to have direct image is to just get a upload for free and put it up there. put the http between the known [IMG] [ /IMG] tags. if THAT's yer question.
hope to be of some service.

Well, first things first - be sure to ask questions such as this in the right place so that your questions will be noticed and we can get answers to you. This question, for example, is more appropriate for the Penciljack Info forum, so I've moved it there for you.
Now, on to your question. You said:

Actually, what you're seeing at the bottom is only a "status" report for your abilities as a member here at Penciljack.com.
For example, the phrase "Smilies are On" only means that you are viewing graphical smilies such as this guy --> ;) If smilies are not on, you'll see the ASCII version of the smiley, which is just a semi-colon followed by a closing parenthesis.
Here's the key point - smilies have absolutely nothing to do with attachments.
Only moderators and administrators are allowed to upload attachments to the Penciljack forum. This means they are actually uploading images from their hard drives directly to the penciljack.com Web site. I've had to disable this practice for registered members because of heaps and heaps of abuse. Therefore, you are unable to post attachments simply because of your member status, not because of smilies or what have you.
The PJ Info forum can be very useful to you, because it contains tons of questions that have already been asked and answered about Penciljack.com. There are even some FYI threads at the top of the Info forum that have some information you might find useful, such as this one:
