So you know how you go to a website sometimes, and it installs crap all over your computer without asking you? I got that, and it changed my homepage. I want to put it back, but when I go to Internet Options, it says that there's a restriction on that and I need to talk to the administrator. Thing is, it's my home PC, and there's no such administrator, so what do I do?

If you are on XP there is an administrator and it should be you, if it's not you did something you shouldn't have when you started with XP.

I have no idea whatsoever as to how to become an administrator again.

If you don't have XP this useless information becomes even more useless than it was when it was merely useless.

If it's Windows XP go to Control Panel>User Accounts>Change an Account>Select you and click the Computer Administrator button. If it doesn't allow you to do that...hit Start>Log Off you>Switch User> and click the icon that's NOT you. Then try changing your account through the first set of steps.

Stupid ass Internet. I can't figure it out short of formatting. Thanks, Jake. I guess I'm gonna go get Opera.

It wouldn't connect to your site earlier, and I forgot about it since then...

Thanks, Ari. That is pretty much exactly the problem I'm having.
