LoadAsano: oh, photoshop keeps freezing up when i try to resize that pic to lower the file size

You do realize that AIM convo served no purpose, right? You totally forgot to mention the resolution you're saving it as and the file type and what it's going to be used for...and if it's CMYK or RGB.

well its a PNG for cafe press, im not familliar with cafe press as some people here are.

Ok, then if it's 300dpi as you say, just flatten the layers and save it. Crop out the unused space on the sides too just to trim a little bit more off the filesize.
