For those of you who recognise it, this is indeed the script of the FF/Hulk story Elliot Fernandez (notbillbixby) has posted in the art section. He tells me he has been having some troubles with the sites hosting the pages, so if you have not seen the pages, it may be too late (and too bad for you, 'cause they are incredible). Some of the liberties he took visualizing this script (most notably on page 3) are really nice.
As always, I look forward to your comments.
And thank you for your time,

The Fantastic Four vs. The Hulk
by Chip Skelton
PAGE 1
PANEL 1: Downtown New York City. A small bookstore. The store takes up the first floor of an old, brownstone type building. There is an extremely large and excited crowd gathered outside the bookstore. Signs on the windows and on the sidewalk in front of the store read variations of "Meet the Fantastic Four here today".
PANEL 2: Inside the store. Through the crowd you can seen Johnny, Sue, and the Thing seated at a table, signing autographs. The Thing is seated on several stacked crates. Reed is standing a few feet behind the table smiling and talking with an elderly man. The elderly man is the owner of the bookstrore, a Rene Linre.
MR. LINRE: ...CAN'T THANK YOU ENOUGH, REED.
REED: IT IS THE LEAST WE COULD DO, RENE. SUE POSTULATED, AND I CONCURRED, THAT WE WOULD BE REMISS WERE WE TO OVERLOOK THIS OPPORTUNITY TO EXPRESS OUR APPRECIATION FOR YOUR RESEARCH ASSISTANCE IN OUR MOST RECENT DEFEAT OF MEPHISTO."
PANEL 3: Ben Grimm looks away from his signing, up at Reed and Rene.
BEN: GEE, REED, YOU EVEN MAKE A THANK YOU SOUND LIKE ROCKET SCIENCE. WE COULDN'TA CREAMED OLE BRIMSTONE'S BUTT WITHOUT YOUR HELP, RENE.
PANEL 4: Johnny, his mouth over-stuffed with a bite of the muffin he is holding, looks over his shoulder at the two men. Bits of muffin are falling out of his mouth. Sue is glaring at her brother with disapproval. Mr. Linre looks on smiling. Reed appears uncomfortable with the jovial conversation.
JOHNNY: PLUS, THESE CHOCOLATE CHIP MUFFINS MRS. LINRE MADE ARE DEFINITELY WORTH THE EFFORT..
SUE: JOHNNY, DON'T TALK WITH YOUR MOUTH FULL. IT'S RUDE.
PANEL 5: Grimm, crumbs falling out of his mouth as well, backs up Johnny.
BEN: AW, SUE, GIVE THE KID A BREAK. FOR ONCE HE AIN'T SO STUPID.
PAGE 2
PANEL 1: Rene returns to the conversation with Mr. Fantastic. In the background Johnny is giving the Thing a definite "nyah nyah" look.
MR. LINRE: I AM JUST GLAD I COULD HELP AT ALL.
MR. LINRE: MAMA LIKES TO TELL OUR GRAND KIDS HOW THEIR POPPY HELPED THE FANTASTIC FOUR SAVE THE WORLD. AND THE NEIGHBORHOOD KIDS WON'T SHUT UP UNTIL I TELL 'IM HOW I WORKED WITH YOU ALL.
MR. LINRE: YOU ALL'VE MADE ME A HERO.
PANEL 2: Reed's hand is on Mr. Linre's shoulder. Ben is still looking up at them, trying with great effort to ignore Johnny's taunting.
REED: YOU HAVE MADE YOURSELF A HERO, RENE. WE ARE ALL MORE THAN HAPPY TO PROMOTE YOUR STORE.
BEN: YEAH, YOU'RE ALRIGHT, 'POPPY'.
PANEL 3: A kid with headphones rushes in. He is frantic.
KID: THE HULK'S GONE CRAZY! HE'S TEARING UP THE CITY!
PANEL 4: Mister Fantastic's arm snakes through the crowd as he takes hold of the boy's shoulder. Reed's neck stretches as well, so that his face is in front of the boy's face.
REED: EXACTLY WHERE IS THIS OCCURRING, YOUNG MAN?
KID: UP NEAR THE OLD PEREZ THEATRE.
PANEL 5: As the Fantastic Four rushes out of the bookstore, and the crowd parts for them.
SUE: REED, THAT'S FIFTEEN MILES FROM HERE. THE HULK WILL DESTROY HALF OF THE CITY BEFORE WE GET THERE.
PAGE 3
PANEL 1: City blocks lay in ruins. Burning cars and buildings stretch as far as the eye can see. At the head of all the damage is the Hulk. He is grabbing his head and screaming. There is absolutely no trace of sanity in him.
CAPTION: THE MIDDLE OF THE WAR ZONE...
PANEL 2: Still screaming, the Hulk charges forward, smashing head long into a building.
PANEL 3: The building, as well as the ones on either side, collapse inward.
PANEL 4: The wreckage erupts, and the Hulk flies out of it.
PAGE 4
PANEL 1: The Hulk lands on a bus. There are still people fleeing the scene.
PANEL 2: The Green Goliath has not stopped screaming. He lifts the bus over his head, and hurls it at the people running away.
PANEL 3: In the foreground the people are cringing and screaming as the bus is just about to land on them.
PANEL 4: The bus explodes as it hits an invisible barrier just in front of the crowd.
PANEL 5: Group pose panel of the FF. All dramatic. Sue still has the invisible barrier up that stopped the bus.
REED: ENOUGH, BANNER! THIS HAS GOT TO STOP. WHATEVER IS WRONG, LET US HELP YOU.
PANEL 6: The Hulk, still screaming, throws himself at the Fantastic Four. They are startled.
PAGE 5
PANEL 1: The Invisible Woman puts up a defensive shield. Reed tries to wrap himself around the Hulk, in the hopes of restraining him. Johnny, flame on, flies backwards, out of the way.
PANEL 2: Sue, rocked by the Hulk's impact with her shield as though he had hit her himself, slams into a nearby building.
SUE: UUHH!
PANEL 3: Reed, obviously in pain, is becoming unraveled. The Thing is holding the Hulk in a tenuous choke hold.
REED: CALM DOWN, HULK. IT DOES NOT HAVE TO BE THIS WAY.
REED: BEN, TRY TO RESTRAIN HIM A MINUTE LONGER. MAYBE I CAN SOMEHOW CALM HIM DOWN.
BEN: EASIER SAID THAN...
PANEL 4: The Hulk breaks free. The Thing and Reed are sent reeling.
PANEL 5: A wall of fire erupts around the Hulk. Johnny Storm flies overhead, looking smug.
JOHNNY: WHOA, BIG FELLA, YOU NEED TO CHILL.
PANEL 6: The Hulk grabs a huge chunk of road and hurls it at Johnny, who no longer looks smug.
PAGE 6
PANEL 1: The small boulder wings Johnny Storm, and he falls out of the sky.
PANEL 2: Richards and Ben are back on their feet.
BEN: HOW 'BOUT A PLAN, REED?
PANEL 3: Reed notices a little girl not far from the battle.
REED: BEN! WAIT!
PANEL 4: The Human Torch recovers quickly as he flys off toward the little girl Reed is pointing at with his way outstretched hand.
REED: JOHNNY, GET THAT GIRL OUT OF HERE. THE REST OF US WILL CONTAIN THE HULK.
PANEL 5: The girl looks scared as Johnny lands in front of her.
JOHNNY: DON'T WORRY, KID. I'LL PROTECT YOU.
PANEL 6: He grabs her hand, in an attempt to lead her to safety, causing her to drop a small, nondescript box she is holding. The box shatters. The girl screams.
GIRL: NO!
PANEL 7: ...And suddenly, the Super Skrull is towering over Johnny, who has released the former little girl's hand.
SUPER SKRULL (GIRL last panel): FOOL!
PAGE 7
PANEL 1: The Human Torch stumbles back, obviously shocked, and barely avoiding the Super Skrull's pummeling Thing fist as it slams into the ground.
SUPER SKRULL: BE THANKFUL I HAVE A TIGHT TIME LINE.
PANEL 2: The Skrull presses a button on his chest: The rest of the team is rushing to Johnny's aid.
SUPER SKRULL: BUT I WILL BE BACK TO EXACT MY REVENGE FOR YOUR INTERFERENCE!
PANEL 3: As the Super Skrull vanishes, the rest of the team reaches Johnny. He sits, propped up on his arms. He is wide-eyed.
BEN: WAS THAT WHO I THINK IT WAS?
SUE: JOHNNY? ARE YOU ALL RIGHT?"
PANEL 4: Johnny, still on the ground looks up at his sister. The others look on with concern.
JOHNNY: yeah. yeah... fine...
JOHNNY: UH, I'M FINE. WHAT ABOUT THE HULK?
BEN: DON'T KNOW, BRAT. WHEN OLE SCHITZO SKRULLY SHOWED UP, THE HULK JUST STOPPED SCREAMING. HE WONDERED OFF, PEACEFUL AS A NEWBORN, LIKE NOTHING HAPPENED.
PANEL 5: Reed in the foreground, looking away dramtically, while the rest of the team helps Johnny to his feet.
REED: OBVIOUSLY, BEN, THE SUPER SKRULL WAS CONTROLLING THE HULK.
REED: BUT WHY?
THE END
As always, I look forward to your comments.
