Ultimate Wolverine redesign (K.O.- Devilman)

From what I gathered, when the Ultimate line of comics came out, Ultimate wolverine was Wolverine, only in a 19 year old's body. He had stupid hair, a stupid costume, and a stupid 'soul patch'. Stupid design all around. Here's what some of US would have come up with had WE been given the assignment of redesigning Wolvie.

yeah saTHOMASso, the beard is weird (and i can rhyme). it kind stems from his healing factor. its cell regeneration. his hair also grows fast and i dont think of wolvie as a high maintanence type of guy. also his healing leaves scars. i really wanted to push the tough little animal aspect of wolverine. i wanted to make him look like he had been to hell and back and kind of enjoys it that way. also i decided to make him a bit of a pain addict (thus the pins and the filed teeth) and maybe a little unstable. he would have really pushed the limits of his durability in the past and it has had an effect on his mental state making him a masochist. definitely at the edge of intense uncontrolability. i also designed the claws that way because they are directly attatched to the forearm (actually his radius and ulna have been removed for the claw housing) and thus takin out wrist flexing while carving. it'll be easier to carve his way into a tank if he doesnt have to rely on the strength of his wrist muscles. and his helmet and visor was so that he can have predator type night infrared vision, facility maps and such uploaded, and also so he can be controlled remotely like a drone. he rebeled against that last part and busted loose from the weapon x project to become a rogue. anyone who has read my descriptive rant this far gets a cookie. there were some strong submissions to this one. i think i'm hooked on draw offs now. dammit. congrats to all on a great job. ;cap;

Well, you didn't gather very well, Devilman. The Ultimate Wolverine is NOT a 19-year-old. Dude, haven't you even been reading Ultimate X-Men? Haven't you been reading Ultimate War?!

I voted for Vinlander's because his came the closest to my idea for Wolvie. I too saw him as a soldier and thought that he should have scars all over his body from all his previous adventures (though the whole psychological profile for mine was different). But I also saw him as the rich boy he was meant to be according to Origins. He'd still have adamantium but no memory loss. Matter of fact, he'd still be in the weapon X program with a high rank and go on missions from time to time. I didn't change the claws since I once read a comic that talked about how his claws were still in his forearms even when fully extended and how his wrists were kept straight because of this (so he didn't need to rely on his wrists to cut) but I'm digressing. Cool designs everyone!

Popninja, I admit that I haven't been reading ultimate x-men or ultimate war, but if you look at what you quoted me as saying, I said that he was the same with the exception of his BODY being that of a 19 year old.

As for voting, I haven't voted, but I like Chiz's alot so I might swing it that way depending on how things work out later on in the tourney.

every release I have read, stated that Logan/Wolverine is suppossed to look ninteen. All the ultimate xman are suppossed to look like teens.....but everyone misses the fact that Kuburt makes everyone look old. It doesn't matter if the character is sixteen or thirty...he' going to look 35.

At least you turned something in. We had about 4 no-shows, and I wasn't going to turn one in, but figured that'd just get me in more trouble with the 'devilman never finishes drawings' crowd.

As for the wolvey age thing, I'm glad i wasn't mistaken. I was thinking that was the situation, but didn't quite know for sure.

BTW, "conman is a swanman"?!?!? WTF does that mean?!?!? Who , (benito) THOUGHT up that CRAP?!?

I voted for dragon because while Ultimates have shnazzy costumes, it's more real than the other titles. I can picture the characters in their civvies more. They aren't working 24/7 and I have the feeling Wolvie wouldn't want to wear leather all the time (that's what he thinks JEAN is for :p ). Either way, it was a different approach and it stood out the most for me.

All of them were great though, this draw off is one of the coolest I've seen in awhile.

I'll say this....I'm against any artist that can't depict the age of the characters they are suppossed to draw...well at least the ones getting paid to draw.

That just doesn't make any sense. In Ultimate X-Men, Millar is, for the most part, using Origin as Wolverine's origin. Hell, in Ultimate War, Captain America states that he met Wolvie in the 1940's. So, why have someone who's probably pushing 100 look like he's 19? I'm not saying you're not telling the truth about what you read, but it just doesn't make sense.

I wonder if Vinnlander1313 was inspired at all by last Monday's Fear Factor when he did his Wolverine.

Yeah, they had the people strapped to a chair and they had to endure having needles pushed through their skin. They started with fairly thin needles, and then worked their way up to thicker needles. It was pretty hard to watch. It looked EXACTLY like what you did on your Wolvie pic.

The anatomy needs ALOT of work.

It seems like you just drew the clothes as opposed to drawing the figure, adding the muscles and then the clothes.
