Lately I´ve wondered:
Terry, you are paying money for the domain-name &
the server the site is hosted on, right? (and maybe even more for PJ related stuff) ... not only money... you have to invest time too for little site-redesigns and stuff...
HOW and WHY do you do this for us the community?!
I mean, there are no banners, no annoying pupup-windows --- nothing you could possibly get some money back with?!
I think this could have two reasons:
1.) you are rich --- and money means nothin to you! :)
or
2.) there was one hidden little sentence in the rules for registration here which said that in case we got popular with our art --- half the money we earn gets transferred to your bank-account ;onei;
seriously ... why do you do that for us ... and how much do you have to pay for PJ? ;pencil;

He's nice. And he is part of the service that hosts the site, pepperjack.com.
I use them to host my site too.

Well, I do like to think I'm a nice guy, but the real reason Penciljack.com is still around is because I wanted to create a community I'd like to be a part of. It's touch and go many times, and at other times, it's downright difficult. But overall, the vast majority the experience here for me is amazingly positive.
As far as costs, etc. It's not something I want to get into, really. I will say that I have a good friend behind the scenes who's made all this possible. At some point, I'll drag him in here and let you folks say "hi" to him. He's been a part of every aspect of this site, and I do mean every aspect. Without him, it wouldn't happen.
And, Chris is right - I'm part of pepperjack.com, a Web site hosting service. That helps tremendously. Still, it's a lot of time and effort and cash involved (you can do the math yourself and figure out how much I've shelled out for the forum software, for example). But hopefully it'll start paying off for all of us in the future.
I'm not sure yet whether ads will be a part of this site or not. That's a decision for another day.

Even so, hats off to you Sir. You're always trying something new like when you had that limited free hosting service that helped ALOT when some of us didnt have a place to host (too bad people were abusing it).
PencilJack puts a smile on my face daily.
I discovered this site a few months ago, and now I wonder how I've been able to live without it. Seriously.
When I am not able to check it for a few days for some reason, I really feel like I'm missing something.
I think I'm addicted.:cool:
Bravo to you sir.

I must say no pop up ads or ads in general stuck everywhere is a definite reason why I love the site. It gives a feeling like theirs no big bag propogandic wolf behind it. Just good honest people with pencils and crayons.
Thank you. If I ever "make it" I'll be sure to hook up some plugs.

yeah thanks. even though i've only been here for only a month or two penciljack has helped me alot! I used to do alot of anime style stuff and was fealing if-y about going back to a comic/realistic aproach, but after visiting this forum it totally enlarged my insights on the subject and i thank you! Penciljack is addictive and i intend to be here until the (if there is) end.
thanks again
