I dont know if this is any good, but i read the other thread about this kinda thingy and thought that, Involving writers would make this more like a school thing...
Lets say we chose a character everyone knows, like Super/Bat/Spider-MAN. Than a couple writers could make a 5 page story for him. The best story get's picked.
Now the pencillers come in. And draw a pages in about 1 or 2 weeks time. We can Vote, and best page goes to the inkers.
Best Inks go to Colorists. In the end All We still get to see the full story pencilled inked & colored... just by different artist's...
Everyone else still gets to create all of it. Hopefully We'll al get learn a lot about creating pages, Do's & Dont's, Crits... and compare your page with cool pages from other artists...
Actually i think it's the only way to take this board to "The Ultimate Level" You could even go and print a Pencil Jack United Artist Comic.
Oh... and we need letterers at the end. of the proces...
Maybe leave that to the colorists...
We got to many great artists on this board not to try and compete with the Comic Industry. (From an amatures point of view) One things for shure.. it will get this Site And it's Artists noted upstairs...
Moderators... any chance we can pull thiss off???
Help me/us out here...

WARNING: COPYCAT!!! COPYCAT!!! :D
The idea ain't bad (hey, I'm a writer). Still, it's a tall order. I think the most you'll get out of this one is to let the writers write a 'story' for one (maybe two) pages, then hope a few pencilers will want to take the time to draw it/them. Maybe you should set some groundrules and see if people are interested.
PS. Changed your name back to Prince, eh?!
:p
PPS. Not another Dutch guy!!! ;onei;

Yeah i'm a CopyCat!!!
It just seemed like logic to me... reading your "original" post.;)
Thing is, drawing page's is the only thing that will make anyone get better at comics. I figured, that an artist would not have to do ll the pages. you could just do one, as long as someone draws the next one...
And it would create a steady stream of pages on the board.
A Fill in artist is normally a bad thing, but in this concept you should be really glad if your page is in the comic. If we could create 20 pages like this with everyone drawn by a different artist, we could create a whole comic in a 1 or 2 weeks.
(Given that the story is written, and 20 artists pick a page)
But that would not have the Challenge Factor.
I think that the challenge would make sure that the story is written/Pencilled. it's something we should at least try out, see how it works for the first 2/3 pages, and see if more people want to Join/draw for this project.
We could use an existing story, from a comic book, which arent 2 hard to find. Let people vote from 3/5 story's on which they want to work, and see what the turnup will be.
At best we'll all have a great year, and have drawn a full pencilled/inked/coloured/Lettered comic at the end of 2003.
I think it's worth a shot...

I'd have a great story, maybe even 2!!! Still, you'd have to find a lot of people who like the story and want to work on it (meaning spend their precious time making it). Also, if somebody (i.e. a penciler) voted for one story but another won, will he still do the project?!

That's a good one...
Well I say grab an existing script from a shelf containing a popular character, who'm many people like to draw.
If Only 5 people enter their version of page one, we could get this thing going. And Those specific artists don't have to draw page 2. The could come back with an awsome page 5 for all I care, just as long as someone else does pencil page 2 till 4.
From an artistic point of view it's about learning to do pages & sequentials. I see all these great artists doing pin-ups, but that just aint what comics is about.
Some of us Pencillers want to do pages but just don't have a story to work with, or the time to do a full comic in a year... That's demotivating!!! This way, you could get the hang of it by just picking a page you think is cool 2 draw, and hopefully well get all pages done. Set the deadline a page 2 weeks apart ore something...
As long as the pencillers pick this up, inkers and colorists will want 2 join in. Especially if the pencillers come with Cool work.
If i look at the Sequential Section, there are not a lot of posts there in comparison with the other forums Cause a page is very time consuming. The fact we are all working toghether would make that more interesting.
So i say, does anyone have a Cool character we should try this with??? (And a written story)
Maybe we should just pick a comic, Start at Issue 1, and do that story all over again... Everyone could have an example of how it's supposed te be done at home, and give their on little evil twist to that...

Personally I'm not a big fan of doing an origin all over again. Looking at Marvel, that's been done enough (BTW I'm more a Marvel man than a DC man). Personally I think it should be 1) a story and character not done before or 2) a story about a known character which could be on the stands right now.
I think it would be best if pencillers decided on the character, since they have to draw them. Daredevil is one of my favorites, with a lot of writing potential and seeing as I'm better then Bendis could ever be... (I DON'T THINK SO!!!)
More thoughts tomorrrow!

You may want to look at these threads to see how these type of things usually go down. This Art Jam shows what is typically the case with these type of colaborations, altho others have never finished at all.
Not discouraging this from happening, just a heads up that headaches are likely and patience is required.

Thanx Shinola...
Tried reading a big part of the gigantic Pol... and hell, we gotta make it simpler. If i understood correctly, Every artist got a page assigned to them, and there was no back up.
That's not the idea here... i just wanna draw-off with sequential art. And when your doing that for page one of a particular story, you could just as easily do page 2 of the same story for the next assignment.
I was actually thinking about a remake of:
FRANK MILLER & CHRIS CLAREMONT'S "WOLVERINE"
(Or just a part of it, Way 2 big!)
I'ts the story that changed wolverine into what he is today, and artwise (!!!great stuff!!!) a litlle outdated. (1980's?):D
That would challenge every artist here cause, you cant really copy the old work, and that leaves more space for your personal Style & Vision. I Also believe almost everyone here knows that story with Lady Mariko & Shingen... Or has it somewhere on a shelf. I'm open to other suggestions as always...
But Wolverine is Always good for Submissions...

!!!Ya'll probable think i'm such an idiot!!!!!
But when i'm down, ill just watch at Juan's webSite
and then i'm really happy with myself...

Like shinolahead implied, I think this one will be difficult to do and seeing that not many people have shown their enthousiasm here, that doesn't help either.
Fact is, this is an idea I had for a long time, but I didn't think people would be interested in penciling/inking/coloring my story. Let's hear what some of them have to say about this.

Don't feel bad guys I had suggested this awhile back and got no takers either. Your better off giving your idea to Bruce Lee(Loston) to use in his forum, Critical Mass.

That's Alright...
Didn't think people would wanna do this in the firstplace, but I had to take the Longshot... (What happened to him??? Dead???)
It's a shame actually, cause if ya ask me this is the only thing that makes sence, and will actually help people evolve...
But i guess Pinups are more fun...
So lets stick to that...
Thanx everyone for at least checking this thread.
Maybe someday in the future... When Hell freezes over...

I think Sequentials are a great way to "weed" out and find out which people are devoted to being true proffesionals..Got a convention coming up in Orlando and we all know companies wanna see your panel to panel work before considering you.My pin-up folder is a bit thicker than it needs to be..I think this is a great idea and I'd love to participate in it....Count me in if nobody else:)

Interesting! :) Now what are we talking about here? 1 page, 2 or maybe even 3 pages? Please let us know how good you want your portfolios to be, guys! :D

Check this out...
I give up, and suddenly 2 people are willing to participate...
And you are right to do so, cause creating good portofolio's is what this is all about in the first place!!!
Cool!!! Mega Cool... Or should that be HOT???
(I'm from hell you know)
That makes 3 pencillers, including myself...
I'd love 2 see 5/10 pencillers to make sure we'll get a submission for page 1. But maybe that's asking for 2 much...
Does anyone have an idea for the story???
Batman/BatWoman is fine with me... never drew the guy, but who cares... it's Batman/Girl...
Anyone wanna write it? Or does anyone have a particular Story Arc in mind??? CeLeSTiaL BeaSTWaRZ... wazup???

doesn't matter with me what the subject matter is or who the characters are...Just need to finish by FEB 27
Celestial Wars

I'd like to give it a shot, BUT.... It's got to be about characters I know (best thing for both you and me I think). I'm more in touch with the Marvel universe. Batman would be fine too, but Batgirl is a no-no for me, since I don't know her and I believe you've got to know a character (even a little) to right a good story, even if it's just a one page story. Personally I'd like to have 2 or 3 pages, but that's something you pencilers have to decide on. Also, you'll have to decide on what you want to show in your pics besides continuity. Fight-scene? (boring!!!), a dialogue between two people (sure!), monologue/contemplation of a superhero/villian (great!)? Or maybe no lines at all, just a story told by pictures?
Tell me your thoughts on this...

Being a H*rny Devil...
I'd like 2 do a 3 page story about BatMan&Girl Sh*g!ng...
I can say ShaG right???
It's got Interaction, Fighting and a spectacular ending... And the UtilityBelt would probably come in handy...
heheheheheeeee...
No seriously... Batgirl is Batman with boobs. You dont have to know her to write 3 pages. You have to know her to right 20 pages... and that's the whole idea behind this thing. Make a 20 page comic... and let every page get voted for... But take your time doing it...
Propsdue:
Febuari 27... how many pages do you want to do till then? 3/5? Is gonna be hard for me... gotta work all day, 5 days a week. I was thinking more like a page every 2/3 weeks, feb 27 is gonna be close for me...
This is gonna be a hard thing to pull off... I wish someone just picked a story, so we could set a date for the deadline and get cracking... Someone Got a cool batman Story??? I don't have any... Wait... what about that BatMan/Darkness Story by Silvestri/Topcow??? I've got that somewhere...
Opinions please...
