Hmmm.... I wanted to post the pic up but it seems Lak already took it off the net and I can't put it up so I think I'll PM him about it. It was the Hulk BTW, maybe you saw it some time ago.

Keen little inker aren't ya!

I've got about 30 something highish-high res images on disc and however many hard copies, no lists as im lazy but if anyone comes up with any names i may have the artists. Joe Mad and Adam Hughes were mentioned last time, i only have a few bad quality print outs by Mad but some good quality AH if anyone's interested, i've done most of them apart from a Gen 13 i need to get around.

As long as it's good clean pencils on high res I'm in. I can't really say what I would like since I've been away from comics for about 10 years so I don't really know what's going on lately.

I know Ramos, MAD and maybe a few others, but mostly the old guys like Quesada (my personal favorite), Jim Lee, Miller, etc. It's hard to say a name when I don't know what you've got on disc.

I would love to ink Joe Quesada...

I barely know what i've got and HATE typing up lists with a passion.

Got no more Ramos or Mad apart from whats been mentioned. There are several Jim Lee up on the inkers vault site, used to be a Quesada page but the links broken now, he has/had at least one inkable piece on his own site as well, i couldn't get it to print out though.

Joe Quesada is very fine with me, Joe Mad is one I really really would like to ink.
Ed McGuiness is one cool dude also, but I've never seen his stuff in pencil. :P

I dunno how I will be witht time, but I think for now, whatever you chose I'm probbly in!

I'm working a Ed McG page as i type this and have another one in my pile of things to do, they're 3 of them i think on the inkers vault page,

That's a shame, Kris, although I don't think it'll be on high res quality anyway.

Don't know about Ed McG, let's hear what others have to say about this possible. For the 3 possibles see Inker's Vault link in kj23's post above.

Thanks for the pic, Lak! I hope we'll take a crack at it. I'm all for it. Now for the rest of our possibel contestants. What do you think of Lak's Hulk pic as the challenge piece?

Not yet, Bill. Although I'm up for it, everybody else still has to say yes or come up with something else. I think it would be best if we decided today which pic to use so people can say yes or no to this challenge. I'm in whatever we do, although I think it would be best if we could take the time to do this right. With Christmas and New Year's in front of us, I don't know how much time I will have between parties.

My suggestion for the deadline would be to post up your entry before dec. 31st. I will probably make the voting thread a few days later though. I don't know if I'll have excess to a computer before that. Maybe I will, maybe I won't. We'll see.

Anyway, I won't be here until hopefully friday, so please decide which pic to ink (I'll go along). I'll leave it up to Psico and kj23:

-Hulk pic by Lak Lim.
-Another pic you mutually agree on.

I'd go for the Hulk pic but I don't want anyone dropping out of this challenge just because I decide it's the Hulk pic, so I leave the choice to you guys! :)

So Friday I'll know what to ink! Bye for now. :p

No offence but i'd rather not do the Hulk pic, i'd rather do something i can use for my portfolio, site or what have you and while the Hulk piece is ok its not really my thing. Not my choice though and i dont want to hold things up, i'll just try and catch up in the next ink off.

Let's do the Hulk pic for this ink-off. I'm really sorry if Kris won't join this ink-off and I really hope Psico will join (come on man, coloring is nice, but inking is the bomb!), but I think we should make a decision now cause I'm doing nothing now (inking wise).

Kris, could you give us a few samples you'd like to do for the next ink-off? That would be great.

For everyone: We are going to do the Hulk pic, everybody can join the challenge, get your entries in before the end of the year (sort of a deadline). If you could, just post up in this thread that you'll join the challenge, so I've got an idea who and how many of you are participating in this ink-off!

Great that everybody is joining this Challenge, although I do have some sad news. I'm not going to be able to post up anything until after New Year's. Damian handles the scanning and putting it out there on the net for me and we won't be seeing much of each other over the next few days, let alone sit behind a computer together. I'm really sorry, but the deadline will be a little bit later. I don't think anybody will complain, since these are busy and happy days for everyone.

I wish you good luck and a lot of fun inking the Hulk pic and of course a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! :)

Hope everyone's having fun with this new ink off. Seed, very good for your first time inking.

Celestial suggested a few pieces for next time, Yanick has some very nice pieces up on his site, the Gambit covers especially. They are not high res but definitely usable and most at full size which is handy. I've already printed out a few and will get around to them sometime. Just thought someone might be interested.

Its all quite nice, personally i've went for the cover/pinup images since even as its in low res its usable, i dont really think a packed page would print out well or be very easy to ink. I do have a few hard copies though of some of his Gambit interiors.

Too bad you can't finish, Psico, 'cause you were on a tight roll here!!
Overall, the inks look nice and solid, but Hulk's outer lines don't have a nice smooth curve in 'em, especially around his shoulders and biceps..... :(
also, you've lost a lot of muscle-lines around the shoulders, which makes them look a little flat.

I'm sure you would've seen these things for yourself, if you would have had the change to finish up;)

I agree with Damian, psico. It's a shame you couldn't finish but we understand. I agree a lot too with the comments Damian made, though I think it's abvious you weren't done with it so it's tough to say anything about it really. The most important crit for me is the outer lines of the Hulk's body. Like Damian said, there not smooth enough (for my taste), but I love the way you did the face. It's the best thing about the pic. See you in the next ink-off! :)

Yeah, I had a feeling that would happen. This board software doesn't like image URLs that don't end in a file extension, like .jpg or .gif, and I can't get to the file itself thanks to the setup of the host page. If you want to post the image directly, I'd suggest getting a new host. Otherwise, stick with just posting the link.
