DEADLINE: 12-27-02 all tournament threads will be posted on the same day
MEDIA: it can be any media, pencil to full on colors, pinups only, no sequentials
RULES: i randomly selected the matchups then i randomly chose one of the characters you picked, you are goin to draw your character fighting your opponent's character
ENTRIES: pm me your pics you can post warmup sketches in this thread, but indicate that they are sketches or if you wanna show of your final piece you can post it here but say that its your final
REFERENCE: pm me any reference, i'm going to make a post right under this one and edit it when people send me new reference. Only pm me reference for the character you are using in this round.
QUESTIONS: if you have any questions, ask them, don't assume something if you're not sure.

we have three weeks to draw our entries?????

hope people don't forget about this, in my experience, the longer a tourney/challenge takes, the more people just forget about it and lose interest (just look at danimation's toruney, quick and fast paced)

but well, I'll prolly be done in a week.

lol brolly, if it'll make you feel better, I've never been able to draw either of the characters in our fight well at all >.< (why did I choose an eva, jeez i'm stupid...)

oh well, I'm stuck with it, and the horrible size difference with every other single character.....unless i pull off a power ranger thing and make them all look like oversized puppets, then i can add big sparks all around XD

i made it that long, cause i want to see some quality stuff instead of a pic someone did in 10 minutes tryin to make the deadline. yeah, these are some interestin matchups. c'mon brolly, a tomb raider/eva fight would make a tight lookin pic

The deadline works for me as well as I have classes until the 20th and wil be able to put time into the illustration afterwards.

During January, I wouldn't mind if the time were cut down to 1 or 2 weeks for each round. I'd certainly would have the time.

solace, really the only thing i would do to this, is tone down the opacity of the bamboo in front, and darken up the BG, that way the guy getting cut in half stands out more. i almost lose him in the BG, because the colors are so similar. but dude other than that i think it looks pretty good! fixing those 2 things shouldn't take long at all, don't give up!:D

raede- i wish i could darken the bg, but the image is backlit. it'd make it easier to read, but would make the figure shading inconsistant with the bg. i'm on the fence about the bamboo though, i kind of like it strong and in-your-face. i may play with it a little more, but i think that i'm just going to leave it alone and take my chances.

I love the way that the samurai character (Blood ?) is standing, its got an edge to it, like imminent action. Great work, altho im almost hoping i dont win cos the competition in this comp is so good, altho theres not much chance of a win for moi.

hazard: the head and fingers on spidey are misproportioned to his body. and the right hand is giving me some trouble figuring out where the thumb is, as the fingers are all the same size... i also wish you'd put in a better suggestion of a bg, cause the webs he's in are floating in mid air. on the plus side, concept and composition are dead on, and that Spike is insanely cool...

Anwyay, elcid, my dad is getting slowly better.. I think he will be around the hospital for a couple of days still. But I still think these are good news.. thanks for the attention man.

WHAT!!!! Lol She's a, he's a, she's a guy?? I had no idea who Xellos was. I'm sorry, in those picts it looks like a girl. I just linked to the reference from page 1 and I took what I saw. I am sorry anime fans. I wouldn't change his gender on purpose. If it's ok with Hazard and you Meta-Knight I'll fix it, I am at work right now and can't fix this right away but I'll fix it as soon as I get home and re-post it tonight (hopefully).

i just got to thinking, how long are the voting threads going to be open? i mean we'll want to keep them open for a bit, but i think anything over a week, would be to long. that way we can keep this thing moving.:D
