According to Variety, Steven Spielberg is developing a big screen adaptation of Herge’s Tintin. Together with Kathleen Kennedy, Spielberg will produce the film for Universal and DreamWorks. The studios are currently negotiating the feature rights with Moulinsart, the Belgian company that holds the Tintin properties. While Tintin is a reporter, his adventures take him around the globe, and more often than not, place him in the action of the story he was assigned to cover. Tintin’s constant companion is his dog, Snowy, while his allies include his mentor, Captain Haddock, police officers Thomson and Thompson; and Professor Cuthbert Calculus.

Okay, at first I thought this was gonna suck, because I remember watching Tintin when I was like 6 on Nickelodeon.
After alot of thinking, I remembered his adventures and the such, and as a live-action movie, this would be pretty damn cool in my opinion. As far as I recall, I'm sure this will rock. Surely. Fo-sho

my brain is saying 'GOD NO!!' but my other brain says 'interesting...' Its like a war. in my brain.
I reckon this could be cool, as long as they cast correctly....and it could have a really nostalic feel if it was done right, really 1920 'road to perdition'-esque. I
ts spielberg, he doesn't usually do things wrong. not usually.

Kuifje!
*aah... sweet memories...*
I used to love that stuff when I was 7 or so... I still got all those books on my shelf, completely worn out :)
Steven spielberg? Could've been a lot worse. And they'll probably get a decent budget too.
Yeah, this could be good. Although I would've preferred a french version.

I wonder if it'll be true to the comic books... e.g. where Tintin lives..

Yeah, that's what I was thinking.

You know, it'd be really hard to mess up. It's about a kid and his dog doing stuff. But... I think if anyone COULD mess it up with overkill, it'd be Spielburg. Or Lucas. They both have so many resources available to them that they overdo everything. Let's hope for some restraint this go around.

as long as their's lots of explosions, car chases and scantily clad undercover ladies in tight black leather jumpsuits with dark hair, dark skin and whips and/or big guns that they oil frequently to avoid jams then I'll invest in sneaking into this movie.
