I mean, if it's Mumui abU jamal, then people like MTV should be BACKING it! An ex black panther (or is he still affiliated?) who was falsely accused of killing a cop and now spends his time writing essays and novels about a plagued system of rights? That's not hip anymore? I thought kids were all about tearing down the powers that be. Guess I'm just getting old.
Hell, even if Mamui DID kill the cop... shit, everyone needs some killin' now and again.

I signed too.
I was also really pissed off at MTV when they took MTVX away...
What the hell was MTVX? I signed. Maybe MTV is just scared because it's now hip to be ultra-patriotic and defend everything that the US Gov't does and if they show a video that even mentions some type of political activist, they might catch hell. I dunno. It is a pretty chicken-shit maneuver they're pulling.

not trying to start anything but if it was a gay activist locked up, MTV would play that freaking video into the ground.

I think MTV has done some good and some bad.
It IS better TV than Jenny Jones and Jerry Springer. . . .
I don't like Misinformation and propoganda, and thats alot of what bleeds from regular T.V. and into MTV.
Personally, I think, by not playing the video,
they are just asking for "it"
Look at what happened to TNN. . . .

well, the statement being as vague as it is, let me go about putting it this way.
First , the evidence that stands, there's pretty much no way that Mumia committed the crime in question. Plus, police back then were notorious for beating first asking questions later. I'm sorry, but if some cop tried to beat my head in like a melon, i'd break him and end him if i had to. It has nothing to do with a badge he hides behind so much as my desire to continue living.
These people were aiming for Mumia because he was a voice of truth back when something like that was better off being surpressed so as to not incite more political action rallies and peaceful demonstrations, (cause you know how much tax payers have to pay every time a volley of tear gas is released into a crowd of political rights activists using their constitutional right to gather.) Shit, you'll probably be better off reading for yourself, I know i can find at least ONE LINK around here somewhere....
(brb) Damn, I just found out that his last appeal has been denied. ****! They're going to execute him!

the only thing I had a problem with was this statement
Hell, even if Mamui DID kill the cop... shit, everyone needs some killin' now and again.
if that's the case, and trust me, I believe that as much as anyone (thin the herd and all, you know...) then what's the big deal about this guy being the getting 'killed now and again'
all I'm saying is, why draw lines? i got no tears that the cop is dead, and I won't have any when the fry this guy...

I've seen some of the 'information' that claims Mumia is innocent, but it's never set right with me. I know a lot of older guys who were cops back in the 60's, and it's not like they were all a bunch of racists back then, but it's easy to paint the establishment with a wide-ass brush, and I understand that. It's not like horrible things haven't been done, by the police.
Like Red7ine, I have a problem with dismissing cop-killing. Not that I have a problem with you, Devilman-type-guy, but it does bug me when I read stuff like that.
My problem with M-TV, is that they have no problem selling out our society to a bunch of drug-using, women abusing, criminals, but when somebody like P.E. comes along, agree or disagree with them, they dismiss their witness. (Trying to be down.)

or me, for that matter. You see, contrary to popular belief, injustice is a BAD thing.

I was watching Empty-V today and they had that news guy with the glasses saying they PLAYED the video. But he didn't even get into why they didn't want to play it. He was just really smug and really short about it.
